Should special needs children be euthanized?

Im not advocating it im just saying shouldnt parents have a choice?...they can choose to abort their child in their womb...so its pretty close to the same thing...if a child is screaming most of the day its like a untamed wild rabid animal.

The works of God can be made manifest in both these special children and how we respond to them.

For instance when you see a mother at her last particle of patience do you stare and say ohh poor soul? Or do you actively size up a way to help her?

These people bless us to look beyond ourselves, stretch ourselves to do something generous for someone who may never ever be able to repay.

Sooner or later as you grow older, you will have 'special needs'. I am pretty sure you won't want society to have the ability 'put you down' like a dog..... O wait, under Obamacare they will.

i'm 47 now, and i see late 60 early 70 year olds, tottering around, hobbling around, miserable looks on their wrinkled old faces, and i think, 'no thank you'

100% right, amen, amen, amen. I know many, many of these families-- with disabilities of all kinds, and I can tell you that none of them would ever choose or support this. As hard as it is, and it can be fucking hard. There is much more to these kids than what you see on the surface, no matter how disabled they are. God works outside of the disability- He works on the family and sharpens them, and uses others to hopefully bless them. Bless them every time you see them out, or better yet volunteer with them, and your heart will grow like the Grinch's.

I was refering to the breeding, no killing mentioned. You are born you live.

If you are retarded and have 'bad genes' (skitzo, downs, anything that could be considered hereditary) you shouldnt be alowed to continue to populate the world with your bad genes and should be sterialized at birth.

This is just forced selective breeding on a wide scale, no murder. And the one to decide your reproductive fate should be your genes, they dont lie.

That's about the most arrogantly self serving approach ever. So you feel good about helping someone... Big fucking deal. The struggling parent can't just hand off the kid to you, they still have to live with it when your feel good kindness is out of sight and life as usual commences.

Minus all the Amen's and hearts holding flowers, I have to agree that they should not be put down.

If you are miserable and want to kill yourself or the child, there has to be a way set in place that you can put the child into someone else' care.

Only idealists will say that everyone who has a special needs child will grow and learn and happy lalalala. If that is the case, then great, but there are those who would rather kill the child, so let someone who can deal with it, deal with it.

There is a provision for this within Obamacare.

This is what I was getting at. If the parent wants to off the kid, then let those who get their sense of worth by helping, do the raising.
