I'm confused about Enki - somebody clarify
just been reading up on Sumerian tablets
Numa Elish with Sitchin's work

and I'm confused

I thought Enki/Satan was the evil bad guy.
Yet the Numa Elish says that he was
the one who helped create us humans
in our current form and he helped
enlighten us to choice and free will.
Him and Ninvana changed our DNA
from it's original sequence of
neanderthal to cro-magnom

this depiction varies greatly from
biblical and quran texts which
depict Satan/Enki as the evil one.

now I'm more confused

can somebody clear this up for me.

Is Enki the bad guy or not ???

Re: I'm confused about Enki - somebody clarify
Lost Book of Enki claims
that both Enlil (God)
and Enki (Satan) had wives
and it listed their names.

No wives are mentioned in
the Holy Bible, Jewish Bible
or Quran.

why is that ???

it also mentions Enki's son
Marduk and the heavenly wars
on earth.

There is no Satan's son
in religious texts ???

Ea Enki no bad.. life, sustenance, regeneration, earth

Jean Bottero and others suggested that Ea, Enki's Akkadian name, associates the Canaanite theonym Yahu, and ultimately Hebrew YHWH.

Re: I'm confused about Enki - somebody clarify
Enki God of knowledge and sciences, of the Earth’s hidden metals; he was the one who set up the mining operations in southeastern Africa.

All these aspects were attributes of Yahweh.
"It is Yahweh who giveth wisdom, out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding," Proverbs asserted (2:6), and it was He who granted wisdom beyond comparison to Solomon, as Enki had given the Wise Adapa.
"The gold is mine and the silver is mine," Yahweh announced
(Haggai 2:8);
"I shall give thee the treasures of the darkness and the hidden riches of the secret places," Yahweh promised Cyrus
(Isaiah 45:3).

In the Mesopotamian versions it is Enki who goes out of his way to warn his faithful follower Ziusudra/Utnapishtim of the coming catastrophe, instructs him to build the watertight ark, gives him its specifications and dimensions, and directs him to save the seed of animal life. In the Bible, all that is done by Yahweh.

Re: I'm confused about Enki - somebody clarify
OP, you're where I was at one point. According to the Enuma, yes, Enlil is Yahweh.

Enki was also known as Prince EA. Apparently, he was also Hermes Thrice-Great, true builder of the Pyramid of Giza, and Poseidon of Atlantis. Here's a bit of help to help cross-reference the storyline on Enki & Enlil:

Robert Morning Sky: The Terra Papers
[link to www.bibliotecapleyades.net]

This reads like a star trek novel, but it's interesting how this story talks about the origins of language, and their names. The excerpt below is from a summary of the above story at this link:

[link to www.bibliotecapleyades.net]

King An sent his son Prince Ea and daughter, Princess Nin-Hur-Sag (both genetic scientists) to rebuild the destroyed world of Eridu and once again tap into the valuable and much needed resources found there. They successfully restored the atmosphere; refilled the seas with life; recreated plants, trees and flowers; and hybridized many different kinds of creatures.

The planet Eridu (Earth) was reborn.

New creatures were produced to inhabit the planet. One such creature, Apa-Mus, was an ape-beast hybrid whose only purpose was to serve and to slave in the fields and mines. But this beast was different from the others. It could understand orders and could communicate. Princess Nin-Hur-Sag had genetically engineered the ape-beast hybrid by using her own DNA. The beast grew in intelligence and began to teach his own quickly multiplying offspring.

When another species of genetically engineered workers - underground - dwelling Sheti Lizards, revolted and seized power, the ruling Star Beings fled from the planet. With the opposition out of the way, the Sheti used mind-control and programming techniques they learned from their masters to alter the memories of the remaining Star Being descendants. Mankind’s knowledge of Star Beings was replaced with myths and legends.

Sheti dominance has been and continues to be challenged by many other star races attempting to regain control of Earth -- and mankind -- for their own purposes.

Once you stop thinking of "good" and "evil" as definitions you will get it
They are just different opinions and points of view

Good in the bible = follow your creator
Evil in the bible = question your creator and learn his truth

Re: I'm confused about Enki - somebody clarify
Regarding Yahweh from my last post, please note I did say 'according to'. Truth be told, there's so many contradictions in the historical accounts in the manuscripts, for example the 2 versions of Noah's flood where God is referred to Yahweh, and in the other, Elohim. When trying to discern the mountains of information, I think the excerpt here has an interesting take on Yahweh:

[link to www.logoschristian.org]

And Abram said unto himself 'Surely these are not gods (Enki and Enlil) that made the earth and all mankind, but these are the servants of Yahweh! Book of Jasher Chapter IX: 19.

"...the Book of Jasher does provide a wealth of insights into who Yahweh really is, it also provides clear evidence that Yahweh is not the god of the Sumerians. He is not Enki, Enlil or Thoth. Yahweh is creator God."

...then an excerpt from:

[link to www.dhushara.com]

"...in Sumeria there is a myth of Enki God of Wisdom and the primal Earth Goddess Ki. Enki eats the forbidden plants from her sacred garden and gets sick. The Goddess gathers eight nymphs to care for each of the diseased organs, and Ninti was Goddess of the Rib the Lady of Life who also fashioned babies bones out of their pregnent mothers' ribs (Walker 728). The Yahwistic myth seems to have intentionally reversed this much earlier one to 'turn the tables' on the female. There are further precedents in the myth of Utnapishtim and the plant of rejuvenation."

"...The Bible has two discordant creations accounts, Genesis 1 being a much later work of 6th century BC work by the priestly author and the Yahwist one of Genesis 2 and 3 being earlier, probably 8th century BC, although "some interpreters still look fondly back to an origin c 930-900" (Fox R 21). This is roughly contemporary with Hesiod's story of origins, through the Fall caused by Pandora releasing all the afflictions of the world (Fox R 21)."

There is also a brief Elohistic account of the Creation at Genesis 5. This is different again from the later priestly account of Genesis 1. In this account God, 'Elohim creates Adam alone male and female in our likeness. This suggests an almost androgynous origin. It confirms however a different idea of God existed, of the sort the priestly author has described:

This is the book of the generations of Adam.
In the day that God created man,
in the likeness of God made he him;
Male and female created he them;
and blessed them, and called their name Adam,
in the day when they were created.
And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years,
and begat a son in his own likeness,
and after his image; and called his name Seth

This God or 'Elohim is different from the Lord or Yahveh-'elohim we see in the Eden myth. This God creates man in our image, male and female, but strangely both in the name of Adam and they begat a son...."

--------

By the way, YHVH is symbolic of the tetragrammaton.

We could delve into sacred geometry on it, ie., the Star of David/Flower of Life and how it's contained within the Kabbalistic Tree Itself ... but I'll leave it there for now:)

It's because according to Sitchin, Enki gave the Adamic race the chance to survive outside the garden. Enlil was the 'keeper' of Eden and only saw humans as causing trouble at that point (Enlil did not want them to have advanced genetics, to be 'like Gods'). The Adamic race was originally created from Enki's own DNA, so apparently he was partial:)

I dont agree that Enki is Satan. And if he is, it is not the same things as the Satan in Christian context.

The snake depicted in the bible is not the same thing as satan. I believe this has been edited by an evil force of some kind to depict the snake (kundalini) as a bad thing, which it is clearly not.

Just my 2 cents.

I see how you came to your conclusion that Enki is Satan but I don't think you can overlap the two stories and get a perfect result for example.

According to Stitchin it was Enki who saved humanity from the deluge. That corresponds to the story of Noah and the ark and if you try to work those two stories together it would make Ekni the word of God.

if you look at the fact that they used advanced genetics to create or "edit" the human race, they should not be considered god/devil and good/bad, but simply beings that performed a certain action.

Perhaps more advanced than us, but certainly no more gods than we are.

perhaps you could see Enki as a sort of humanitarian, or perhaps as a crazed dr. Frankenstein.

and Enlil as the voice of reason, or the system, bend on following rules at all costs.

perhaps seeing earth as a perfect opportunity for the study of evolution, somewhat helped along the way with genetics hehe.
Maybe also as some sort of expression of freedom and creation.

the idea of sacrifise is to get the favor of the "gods"
but if they aren't gods?

I highly doubt a clever scientist would approve of a blood sacrifice being performed in his name, flattering as it may be.

perhaps that is why Enlil supposedly was against the "free roaming" humans hehe.
Primitive minds, primitive ideas, lack of self control, leading to chaos and destruction.

but every species deserve the right to be alive and to decide their own fate, regardless of their origin (to some extend the species should be "guided" to avoid being too much of a "problem")
