Almost Half the Sun Covered By a Huge Black Spot! | |
ZEROeffect User ID: 21572434 Canada 10/11/2012 01:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BUMP! Quoting: ZEROeffect Things that make me wonder.... If the sun is supposed to be a fireball, then does that mean it is being fed a constant source of oxygen? And if so, what made that oxygen? For it to flare like that, wouldn't that then mean that the sun is getting bursts of oxygen to burn off? Now then, if the sun is an electric sun like many people suggest, then wouldn't the bursts from the sun have a more electric look to it, like you see in those novelty electric balls? The bursts from the sun look more like how water would flow than fire or electricity? Maybe lava like flow? Could everyone be wrong about the sun. Fire would spark and flare outwards in many directions, not circular even flowing bursts! Same goes with electricity. These are very violent elements (fire and electricity) Could it be a combination of fire/electricity/lava/water/wind(oxygen) all rolled into one? Just thought I'd give you guys something else to think about! No, no and NO. Thanks for the explanation! Now I NO everything about the sun! :) |

Oh stop it. That's the way it looks from that camera. If you've never seen it look like that, you're not paying attention. Fucking half-brain-dead drop-outs, jeeze!!! Prove it. I have never seen a coronal hole this big either. |

Quoting: ZEROeffect If you think in 4d we spiral through the galaxy trailing the sun with the rest of the planets. So the sun is roaring through space at unimaginable speeds. I know that when I throw a tennis ball of fire (Fun stuff) the fire trails the ball like this <O Now if we are following the sun through space and the sun is fire....then why does it not show this trail at all times? Is it just the vacuum of space keeping it all uniform and centered like this (O) And if that is true, then what is feeding this giant fireball this oxygen? Also, why does the sun behave in this way? Shouldn't a fireball act like a tennis ball on fire being thrown? That leads me to believe that the sun is not a fireball like they say! Now an Electric sun would act more like this! Then again, you would not see such a "flowing" of sunbursts like we are seeing in these pictures! Therefor the sun can not be purely electric in nature, can it? Even with the supposed massive gravity, and vacuum of space! Hmmmmm. Anyone? Dear GOD will you please read something besides comic books!! Did you sleep through everything???? At least reading comic books, is WAY more informative than your post! Thanks for your wisdom! :) |

My desktop image and screensaver are up to date images downloaded from the SOHO site every 30 minutes, I set this up about 6 to 8 months ago, and watch the sun closely. In this time I have not seen a dark area this large. Maybe you can provide some older images showing and area this large??? I am not claiming any doom here, as the sun is reaching solar maximum it should be expected that situations like this will occur. The dark areas indicate a lack of activity. The coronal arms/bursts are a result of the active, bright areas. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 14350080 United States 10/11/2012 06:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think it is a coronal hole. I think that big sunspot coming around is just "blacking" out the rest of the sun due to it's intesity. Here: [link to spaceweather.com] There is no mention of a large coronal hole except on the 9th and that has already passed. There is mention of an asteriod fly by tomorrow that will be fairly close. |

The only existing CH is directly in front below the equator, and its average at best. Actually right now the sun isn't doing anything as sunspot regions are docile and the last CH energy wind is past us. This is perfectly normal and I've checked it almost everyday for five years “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle.
