July 5th, 2012 - my first [official] UFO sighting, the orange ball seen across the US!
On July 4th, 2012: My husband & I were up, doing our own thing instead of the traditional fireworks. Around 2 am, July 5th 2012, my husband gets in the shower.

As I was outside, texting to a friend, a ball of light appeared just above on of the other apartment building (50-55 degrees). It immediately caught my attention. I literally could not stop staring at it - it was that frightening to me. It looked as it was a plane on fire (which would make sense as it just appeared or popped into my view). I was so fixated on this ball of fire, I didn't think of a camera to record or take a picture of it.

So, please check out my sighting report for all the details about it, including its path & my conversation with a FAA representative.

I placed my sighting on ufostalker.com & filed my sighting report with MUFON. As I searched the sightings map, I used the filter of July 1st through July 8th and there are hundreds of similar sightings, especially what I saw (thanks to the people who has pictures & videos of it) plus, very interestingly the reports that state the same time frame as my sighting - even in different time zones!

A MUFON investigator for Cincinnati called me & asked me a few more questions & specifics. Being as the only person in the southwestern Ohio, to have reported my sighting on ufostalkers.com, FAA, & local news stations, the investigator stated how he wanted to come out & investigate, take measurement readings, etc...

That was over 3 months ago...

Anyone else seen the orange orb? Fire ball?

It was confirmed by my regional FAA as not a plane. It was not a meteor or meteorite since it had changed its course significantly. It was not a solar flare - duh... Lol. I checked the regional news for any Japanese or Chinese lanterns & negative.

My FAA comment:

UPDATE! I have received a call back from the FAA in Cincinnati and they have assured me that the local airport (Lunken Airport) had nothing on their radar & nothing was showing up on their tower... they had also mentioned there is a man who does air shows at night where he puts alot of lights on his plane & the FAA guy will ask the airshow guy if he was in the area where I am that night... but with all these reports across the nation, in Canada, & in South Africa of the same thing, around the same time, maybe 1 day apart from each other (and I found a video of almost the same thing I saw but was a little bit smaller in California), this is no airshow or plane...
