Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm making Ham & Beans on this chilly autumn night. How do you make yours? First, while prepping the beans... I make a broth of smoked hocks, celery, carrots, onion, garlic, a couple of bay leaves, kosher salt, peppercorns, and a can of beer. Simmer for a couple of hours. Then, I strain the broth, add more chopped onion and cubed ham. Simmer the prepped beans in the broth for about 3 hrs. YUM YUM! Cornbread on the side of course. |

Great Northern beans and kosher salt is just salt that isn't iodized. Also forgot, a pinch of rosemary and thyme in the broth as well. :) |
