It's an electrical discharge on Jupiter...but what is causing it?

As MASSIVE as all of the U.S.A. west of the Mississippi being electrified all at once!

Obviously, they are afraid to call this an "electrical discharge", because they would then be asked: "What could possibly be the source?!"

Yes, but they are trying to say "12 North" which is impossible. It is essentially right on the equator.

The most massive lightning every witnessed in the solar system.

Sourcing from INSIDE Jupiter...hmmm.

By the way, the previous two lightning flashes (in 2010) were on DIRECT OPPOSITE ENDS OF JUPITER with respect to the CORE ROTATION of Jupiter, separated by 78 days.

Jupiter has never been known to have more than small incidental lightning barely witnessed on the darkside.

THIS IS OCCURRING ON THE DAYSIDE, FOLKS! AND IS STILL MASSIVELY BRIGHT!

i just captured this one from that vid

it shows a round core of charge, or impact flash, surrounded by a larger ring of charge, or impact debris

hmm, just noticed something funny about that still of Jupiter I captured. playing about with it in paintnet, I used the curves feature, which brings out stuff in the image, and the side of jupiter away from it's direction of orbit, it's right side as we look at it, seems to be deformed, and where that flash happened seems to be on top of a huge mound on it's side of Jupiter..

Jupiter too has an ionosphere, like the Earth.

Something on Jupiter: asteroid hitting, gas explosion/release, etc. would be the most likely cause in my opinion.

Whatever that something did created a conduit between the ionosphere and the 'ground' to Jupiter's core.

BAM! massive electrical discharge just as seen here on Earth.
