Proof of God - You're not going to like this.
Today, Popular Science reported that a scientific team is attempting to determine whether we live in a giant computer simulation. The idea is that computer programs have limiting factors, as opposed to real life which would not be so constrained. If these scientists determine that there are physical limits then they will conclude we are in a simulation.

If we are in a simulation then someone wrote the program. That "someone", by definition, must be God.

I'd like to see and hear all those who don't believe in God when these researchers conclude that we are in fact living in a simulation which only a supreme programmer could have written. Then, I will turn my smirking gaze over to the religious believer's in God and ask them just how it is they intend to live with God in heaven when they are just a computer simulation. This is going to be priceless.

This is the simple and logical conclusion to the concept of the universe or creation being a matrix or computer simulation. It will actually PROVE the aboslute truth of a MASTER designer or programmer.

And that supreme being would have It's signature all over the place.

It would prove that this "God" is ABOVE all other concepts of gods from all religions. The True Source of all creation.

That creation has a creator.

Presumably heaven would be the next stage of our program, where the little glitches and errors in the code that we see as suffering and violence in this program are patched .

Studying near death experiences is the key to understanding.

Most assume, NDEs are just hallucinations, but, there's many cases of people coming across information during the NDE that was previously unknown to them, but, was later proven down to be true to the exact details.

This includes, NDErs meeting deceased people in a heavenly place, learning of things from the deceased that was unknown to them, but after the NDE, this previously unknown information was verified to be true.

Hmm. The other day I was talking to my son while he had the TV on. I was trying to think of a term but was having some trouble - then the term "eat it" came to me and I immediately put it in a sentence. The moment I finished, the person on the TV said "eat it". My son looked at me in astonishment as the likelihood of that being a pure coincidence is astronomical. So, taking your statement about information flowing from an NDE, I would contend that if I am in a computer simulation, I have some access to the electricity powering the system and it is through those electrical connections that I tapped into the information that flowed toward my TV in form of "eat it". An analogy would be that my electric power system in my home can also transmit internet traffic.

If we are in a simulation than ANYONE could have written the program. I am not opposed to the idea of 'God' but this hypothesis cannot negate the possibility that highly advanced extra-terrestrials could use their technology to create a simultation that encapsulates consciousness. I'm not saying I believe this but it's certainly not outside of the realms of possibility. Look at the SIMS games that we utilize for entertainment in our society - imagine the SIMS game 10,000 years from now or what a SIMS game would be like for a civilization that is 100,000 - 200,000 years more advanced than we are!

I've done this myself, more than once. Someone can guess the lotto correctly once, or even a few times, but chance still can't be ruled out, unless one guesses the lotto, consistently and repeatedly.

Also, this is completely different, from someone while in their NDE, finding out several pieces of information, and actually seeing, the deceased in a heavenly location, and then finding out all this information was actually true. This isn't limited to information about the deceased, but also geographic locations, and what others were currently doing during the time of their NDE.

I had a NDE almost 6 years ago. At one point I looked into what I think was probably eternity. It was like looking into space, but no stars and planets. It wasn't black like space, but a misty blue/grey with a few faint and very distant shapes, like arcs...thin lines and there was a distant huge sphere. In this space I saw some shapes, like a cross between bubbles and t.v. screens. One flashed, like a strobe light. My thought was that these shapes were my incarnated lives and the one that flashed was this life, and I knew I had to return to it. I said "oh, no". I didn't want to come back here. No one said I had to come back...the knowledge came from within me. In fact, I saw no one, heard no one. The whole experience lasted maybe 10 seconds, but it was a very vivid experience and I sensed a state of being that was more intense than I've ever experienced in this life.
Maybe my NDE was worth mentioning...maybe not.
