Very Large Comet arriving in a sky near you next March 2013
June 2011, a New Comet was discovered at the Haleakala Summit telescope, this new discovered Comet is called C/2011L4PanStarrs, named after the telescope.

Now the interesting thing about this comet is the size of the thing, currently where it is near Jupiter, the diameter of this thing is around 10,000KM, the Earth is only 12000KM, as it approachs the Sun, the Comet will expand to a estimated 120,000KM, thats the size of Jupiter itself.

The comet on its present course will pass the Earth at 1.09 AU on March 10th 2013, and can be seen naked by the eye.

I am getting on a bit, but I dont remember ever having a year where there was going to be two visable comets in the same year as there will be another one sometime in December called ISON..

Very interesting times in our local Solar system lately.

If we are here or not, I dont thing that the Comet would give a toss, and still will run its path regardless.

The Mayans did not speak of the end of the world or destruction of mankind in relation to 2012. Grow up.

If this is true then we'll most likely see it. This would be really neat. Link?

10000 km diameter makes this thing a planet, not a comet I guess.

that is just one website link, I used that one because of the good imagines, you want more details, try this one,

Comet C/2011 L4 had an apparent magnitude of 19 when it was discovered in June 2011.[5] By early May 2012, the comet had brightened to magnitude 13.5,[6] and can be seen visually when using a large amateur telescope from a dark site. As of October 2012, the coma (expanding tenuous dust atmosphere) is estimated to be about 120 000 km in diameter.[7] Comet PANSTARRS will pass closest to Earth on 5 March 2013 at a distance of 1.09 au.[4] It will come to perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) on 10 March 2013.[2]

The Coma of the comet is 120.000 km, this is NOT the actual size :-) How big is it really? I haven´t got a clue.

Also it passes Earth (planet we live on), at 1.10 AU, AU stands for Astronomical Unit, and is the distance Earth to Sun.

It would be really really incredible if it made a U turn and headed straight for Earth. Personally I really really doubt it.

So instead of having Panic sex, have regular sex. Pick up a binocular or telescoop and enjoy the comet if you can find it. On a personal note, I couldn´t find it yet. :-)

Can there be another suprise impact as in Russia, sure. Statistics rule it out but the universe has a way of beating statistics sometimes. :-)
