political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I was looking at this, they have an option to ask for help for yourself or give help. No option to request help for someone else?

Re: website to donate to help families in need
Are you there to see where the money goes? Are you there to see if these people are legit? How on earth can you trust a website? I'm sorry but in this day and age scams are a dime a dozen.

Remember what happened after the Haiti earthquake? All the assholes came out of the woodwork including Clinton and Bush encouraging the public to donate their money to help the poor people out. Did they get helped? No they didn't. Where did the money go? Obviously not to the people that needed it. But the big boys in business lost no time in drawing up plans for luxury resorts for the rich and powerful now that the 'rabble' had been cleared away. This is only an example.

Open your eyes. Instead of throwing cash at a website where you have no way of finding out where your hard earned money goes why don't you find out what is happening in your local neighborhood? There may be a homeless shelter close to you that is in dire straits financially and could use the extra few bucks for food. At least you can see where the money is going because you can witness it with your own eyes. Again this is just one example of many and a lot more secure than throwing money at a website. At least you can have the peace of mind that you are not purchasing a new car or a holiday home for some corrupt bastard who lives on the gullible.

whatever, do what you have to do
and so will i

There happens to be a homeless shelter close to me and i help there also
if the damn potus would throw some of those billions at America instead of to other countries so they can attack our people and kill them
things would be a lot different

Re: website to donate to help families in need
I tried to post requesting help for a neighboring family who needed a gas stove and a gas clothes dryer. The 2hands.org has the requirement that you put an ad on craiglist for them, mentioning the organization, if you are seeking help. For craigslist, you have to have a verifiable phone number. My cell phone number did not qualify. :(

I contacted the admins, and they straightened it out. I have had the same number through Boost Mobile for over 4 years. I have no idea why they couldn't verify it.
