Kruschev made that mistake with JFK. In this case, Putin wouldn’t be making a mistake. The Obama administration came in promising a “reset” in Russian relations, but in what became a portent of the future, the “Reset” button that Secretary of State Clinton handed the Russians actually said “overcharge.” They got the word wrong and they read the Russians wrong, but they did overcharge the American people for four years of extremely poor service. Personally, I’d like my money back." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA |

Russia now says it does not want to extend a U.S. assistance program that has helped secure and dismantle nuclear weapons dating to the Soviet era. The program has been in place for two decades and has been considered a big success." |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 15368686 United States 10/12/2012 06:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not surprised, Putin while not wanting the USSR back definitely wants Russia to be top dog in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and to some extent the Western Pacific. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25019022 My whole thinking is that this treaty has kept Russia under our thumb so to speak. A lot of intel has come out of that country via this program, no doubt. So...when Russia backs out that intel is now lost. In addition, when Russia backs out of this treaty, I forsee several other nations getting the fortitude to do the same with similar types of agreements/treaties. It could be called the "Nuclear Spring"...andother tribute to Obama's idiocy that will end America's oversight of nations with nuclear weapons. |

Apparently Putin tried to put an end to this agreement several years ago. I believe Bush was in office then. However, I can't actually find a link that verifies it...just a couple mentions of it in blogs. According to the rumors Putin decided NOT to push the idea because he was aware that Bush wouldn't just let it go. With Cheney by his side, Russia knew Bush wasn't to be messed with. Obama however...is a totally different story. |
