Appears somehow cutaneous, a section of skin of some sort or another. It has a transparency from the inner area and reflective from the outer area. It has an organic appearance. My first thought was some type of poly sheeting but after looking at it for some time it more resembles a skin of a flora than a fauna. |

Nice! First time I've seen this in good closeup. Was there no official release on what it could be? I thought maybe a fragment of packaging from the lander or maybe even from a previous mission, but that's highly unlikely. Any guesses on what it could be? |

WHAT IS THAT? It is, to me, sad how fast people forget the FOUNDATIONS of our fine country! This country was built by an armed population capable of fending for themselves, and will be lost by couches full of potato-sheeple riding their 52" HD-LEDTV's into the orwellian sunset. :( :abomb::abomb::abomb: BRING ON THE DOOM!!! |

Guys, the OP is not about the peice of plastic, it is about THE BLACK THING MOVING AROUND ON IT... It almost looks like a tiny creature of some sort, in one frame it is to the lower right of the plastic, in the next it is on the upper right part of the plastic... LOOK CLOSELY, you will see it. Quoting: Billy_Sastard WHAT IS THAT? That's exactly what I was gonna jump on here and say. First thing I saw. OP, good job! |

Hey guys, this is kinda freaking me out, does anyone have a logical explanation? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22573986 There's a lot of logical possible explanations: 1. It's a spec in the lenses, but it doesn't explain why it's moving. 2. It's a spec in the CCD sensor. 3. It's a Martian bug. 4. It's an Earth bug and the rover is not in Mars. "Do or do not.
