| Anonymous Coward User ID: 28573056 11/27/2012 09:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Congrats to all the quitters! I want to quit so bad. I think it's more of a head game with me, I get kind of sad when i think I wont smoke anymore, sounds pathetic I know. I've started cutting down getting ready to (hopefully) quit in the new year. Great thread :) |

Quoting: Desert Fox Salt, I absolutely could not have made it past the first 10 days without Chantix. It will help you get past the worst, then quit the chantix as soon as you can. My cig consumption went down the first day I was on it, because I just wasn't getting the kick from the cig like the day before. Works. i'm afraid to take that med. my dad took it (he was a 3 pack a day smoker for over 30 years) and he got so mean and weird on it. said the anger was off the frame. so he stopped taking it and just wore two patches of the 21 mg nic patch and chewed gum too. [hilarious] but he quit. i have never been one that can take meds well. even cough syrup. lol... the patches work pretty good for me, but if i wear them at night i have really weird, hectic dreams. Ha, on the vivid dreams. I did the patches one time. I didn't have any bad experience from chantx, but I stopped taking it after 9 days I think, because too many do have bad results after being on it for a few weeks. Use what works friend. I have quite smoking a few times. First with the smoke away system, then again with the patch, then Chantix, then the patch again. I haven't smoked since October, but am now addicted to the damn patch (14mg.) The dreams go away after a while, but I had a few nightmares. I think the habit is 90% in the head, Gotta really want too to be able to beat the demon. DF ![]() |

Quoting: Salt That is correct. Getting the lungs clear is a valuable asset to your health. I used the patch for a full month when I quit. It allowed me to get used to 'not smoking' before I went cold turkey. Almost 3 months now. Don't think I could have done it without the patch. They were invaluable. Go for it! Beware The Suits |

My dad smoked for 30 years and quit cold turkey AND carried a pack of smokes on him for about a year after. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18479948 Cold turkey is the only way I agree, it is the best way at least the first time quitting. But my second time I couldn't do it. I know a friend I talked in to quitting an he still carries an unopened pack a year later. True. ![]() |

So glad I finally got victory over this “Out of this war, the greatest since the beginning of history, a new world must be born, a world that would justify the sacrifices offered by humanity. This new world must be a world in which there shall be no exploitation of the weak by the strong, of the good by the evil; where there will be no humiliation of the poor by the violence of the rich; where the products of intellect, science and art will serve society for the betterment and beautification of life, and not the individuals for achieving wealth. This new world shall not be a world of the downtrodden and humiliated, but of free men and women and free nations, equal in dignity and respect for Mankind and Nature.” - Nikola Tesla Summum Bonum Try if you must, but I WILL NOT deny the SOURCE/Naima, for IT encompasses ALL of Me and is the very beat of my heart( which is the sacred gate ) We are All Stardust ~ I was born on the Moon's day (Monday) |
