I think I need to keep that "break time" as part of it to be sucessful. Quoting: littlemiracles The point is my dear, you have started a process. Now you must adjust and modify it to reach your goal of getting off cigarettes. If within a period of time you are 100% off smokes, you win. Next, as you know, the e-cigs have to fade away too in order to claim to be nicotine free. Great luck to you. Thanks DF and thanks for ythe thread... |
Desert Fox (OP)Forum Moderator User ID: 8786935 02/16/2013 11:01 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | DF. I will always hold you dear to my heart for having this thread. Never abandon it. Except for my couple of transgressions I remain smoke free and strong. I'm afraid I simply can't and won't continue posting here. It is no reflection on your good work here. You are quite possibly the "wisest" I've met. Many have knowledge but few have wisdom. That's you. I am sorry for your ill health but believe in my heart you will get better soon. Quoting: Grump 7793645 I'm off. I'll check in now and then. Also, Mac, i had no idea that in the vernacular of those who routinely use the word FU and FO were different. In this case judging from your post I would say it was a fond FU, done with love. Stay strong. Don't waiver. Hawke, remember that the two week period was a rough one for some of us. Drink your cranberry juice. Love you CHL. Best to your better half. Also, here's some advice: when wanting to beat the royal crap out of somebody, particularly the condescending, the sanctimonious, and the ones who think they have the monopoly on sensibilities, just drink camomile tea. It's lovely. Outta here. Your kind words are not taken lightly my friend. You have been a great asset for me in this thread. Please come back now and then at least. You health and happiness is my greatest desire for you. Many blessings to you. ![]() |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 12432310 02/16/2013 11:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since I am now just recovering from acute bronchitis, of which required two trips to the emergency room because I felt like I was literally suffocating, dare I say I will NEVER smoke again. This after years of being a very light smoker (1-3 cigarettes a day), but when you simply cannot breathe, you will swear on a stack of Bibles like I did, that nary a wisp of smoke will cross into your lungs again. So it is has been since February 1st. Do I miss smoking? Yes, I enjoyed it otherwise I would not have smoked, obviously. But this serious respiratory illness, of which I'm still recovering, has cured the smoking habit once of for all. I had an aunt who died from smoking - a beautiful woman - but after watching her last years in a wheelchair with a constant flow of O2 pumping into her severely-damaged lungs (after 60 years of smoking), and to listen to her constantly hacking and coughing was good enough for me to cut back. But again, acute bronchitis was the final straw. Hello lungs! I do love you so. |

If you have a problem with OneLove over the joke and subsequent comments, why not sort it out? To leave the thread (an aid in remaining smoke-free) is comparable to saying, "I'll show you," and then shooting yourself in the foot. You and OneLove are both reasonable and a happy medium can be reached. You mentioned that resentment has led you to harm yourself in the past with the smokes. How is this different? There are no victims, only volunteers. Why would you discard something you value? Unless, of course, this resentment provides you with a "justification" to smoke. Hope that's not the case. It really feels like your cheating yourself, selling yourself short. As you've written before, that seems to be a pattern. Tough it out, Grumps. New Frontiers. Pioneer Spirit. Wagons, Ho! |
