| Anonymous Coward User ID: 34973426 02/22/2013 07:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | DAY 19 "The Test". Got a good freind and a dude who used to play in my band comming over today...jsut flew in from Texas. Him and another old freind... there is going to be drinking. Quoting: Hawk-02 Up untill now I have not drank, and pretty much steered clear od social situations. i had to stop playing music for a few years (this was like 18 yrs ago) because my musician friends and i would drink too much every time we got together. i can tell you that it is possible to stop drinking, even for years at a stretch, if you want to. it's just like smoking, but easier to stop in my opinion. now, if i want a beer or two once in a while, i can have it, but the funny thing is i don't like it like i used to. i have no interest in getting buzzed anymore and when i start to feel it, i am happy to stop. but, in order for me to get to this place, i had to stop drinking completely for many years. if you don't want to drink, just don't. it might seem like a temptation at first, but if you make your mind up, you will be very glad for your ability to exercise self control and it will build up your ability. I feel the same about drinking, can't do it like I used to, but more importantly I don't even want to. You're all doing so well. If you fall, get back up. Quitting is easy, I've done it heaps of times lol. We all falter, just start again. Keep trying. Try again and again and again and again. |

Not many people can say they've bowled a perfect game. I can't wait to see a picture of your trophy. Glad you finally made it back home from the hospital. And while that Hell's Angel was out of order approaching Tatyanna from behind and whispering, "How'd you like a real Canadian Mounty, Commrade" he didn't deserve three fractured ribs and both his arms and one leg broken. Bad lapse of judgement. Well, at least he'll be out of traction in six weeks. Man, that Tatyanna don't play (but between the jet lag, the journey to a new land, and an afternoon of gutter balls, can you really blame her for being a little testy). Great news about Yuri. I know you'll give me more details, but how he came to be kidnapped and found in Detroit is suspect as hell. But, as you said, let's stay positive. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the Yuri-Tatyanna reunion. Talk about "To Russia With Love." It's going to be a busy Saturday for you. Well, take it easy for the rest of night, Grumps. Another big day behind you. Nice cup of chamomile ("soothing tea for a nervous world"), a little night music, and before you know it you'll be off to the land of dreamy dreams. You lived this day well, sister. Glad you're here to tell the tale. |

| Edgar J Friendly User ID: 24277076 02/25/2013 08:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After a while you can taste other peoples smoke, and it doesn't taste good. It tastes foul. I see others smoking in lonely corners behind buildings. I know I can't help them, I know exactly what I would have thought when I smoked if some stranger had come and lectured me. The decision is yours and yours alone. Even though I used champix, it was the third time I have done so. I completed that program some months ago. I have found I have had to reinvent my thought processes. I am becoming one of those people you all know who is disgusted by the smell and taste of cigarettes. I have HAD to do this because I loved them so much, at least, I thought I did. You see, what really helped me was the realisation that I never really liked them anyway. I never imagined that it was the drug itself that changed my brain into thinking that I liked it. That's what nicotine does. We falter, we fall, we get back up again. Dont beat yourself up if you have a setback, it's an addiction not some little phase. Some people can quite at the drop of a hat but for most of us it is a HARD HARD road. It really is worth it, I feel better and better every day and you can too, you really can. As long as you keep trying you haven't failed. EJF |
