DAY 41. We saw tracks in the woods, footprints. They appeared to be human, yet much larger. WE did not think much of it at the time when we finished our morning hike and began to prepare a breakfast of eggs and bacon over the campfire......

You can do it.

If I can walk away from them anyone can.
First ask yourself if you are ready to let them go, then...

Day 13 came and went with nary a craving in sight.
# of ciggs not smoked = 240 (in truth probably closer to just over 300).
Money saved - $150.00, wow in less than 2 weeks.

Threw away the ball and chain and am tasting freedom for the first time since the 1970's.

Also tasting my food for the first time in a long time, my sense of smell is now keener than a hounds.

I have been saved from the clutches of evil in the form of a toxic white stick.

Freedom now belongs to me...

Just keep telling yourself...I want to break free..

Thanks Hawk, ditto for you.

Can't wait until I am no longer counting days and just live life as a non smoker.

Love being free from the addiction.

Lots of music and dance to distract me and keep me free.

Hang in there catgirl.

Day 14 here, still a long way from where you are at.

But you at day 67, that is a fantastic accomplishment.

I can smoke and then stop smoking, at will, at any time I want. Might be because I only smoke organic American Spririts, which are much less addictive to the devil cigs put out by all the rest.....

I was an avid fan of the American Spirit ORGANICS - loved them.

And smoked them just as addictively... cause there is something about my biological chemistry, life path, and spiritual journey that makes smoking nicotine for me an addictive process. Why have one when I can smoke as many as I want whenever I want - and that was my problem in a nutshell - I couldn't stop at a few, I could smoke anywhere depending on the stress levels of interacting with dramas and chaos - a half a pack to a full pack a day.

And before I quit I could really feel the effects on my lungs and throat. Nicotine gave my body energy (a cycle that had to be fed constantly when my sugar levels dropped), and gave me a way to steer my focus away from stressful situations until they passed.

So it is nice for you AC that you can pick them up and put them down - but not all of us are as genetically pre-disposed to be able to do so.

So I choose just for today not to smoke a cig - even an organic one...: ohno: especially an organic one! ohyeah

If I may?

At the biological level (not excluding the spiritual) the purity of your blood which flows to your brain from your liver can affect the chemical balance of the brain, emotions and thoughts. You may find researching macrobiotics, TCM and depression interesting reading. Also blood purity and depression and the role of the liver and depression.

Hello Fellow Non-Smokers -

Hawk you're writing above has a Hemingway feel to it. His goal was to write simple declarative sentences. And while he had issues, he did accomplish his goal. You sound rock solid, brother.

Canada, you're doing this with great style and all your senses are beginning to tingle as they should. Very happy for you.

Cat, As Salt said, all part of the return to the good stuff. Ride it out and you'll never go through it again. Gteat stuff.

Glad to smoke-free with you all.

Day 42. I do not think either of us thought we would still be stuck on this moutnian. Supplies are running low, as is morale. Yesterdays footprint discovery added an additional concern,(especially after the scuttlebut we gleaned from the town folk before we started this journey) yet we are stredfast to complete what we have started.

Re: I QUIT SMOKING , YOU CAN TOO. I QUIT SEPT 27, 2012, SUPPORT EACH OTHER HERE
Afternoon, Friends -

Restless and irritable today. Feel like a bit of my guts have been scooped-out and I'm left with a cold hollow chill inside. An emptiness filled with niggling flutters of anxiety. At times, almost a feeling of free-floating fear.

I don't like it. Don't want to sit with it.

Don't want to attempt to fill it with a smoke. With a lie and quick-fix that, ultimately, won't deliver. Fuck that.

So....I'll move a muscle to change the thoughts. Do some work. Ride it out.

It's a fleeting cold chill of anxiety. But it's forming a patch. To help the fear skate across my perception. Across my day.

So I'll make I blanket as I may and move along with the day. But I don't like it.

When I get anxious or fearful, I get angry. I know anger. Can work with that. But when all is said and done, fear always drives my anger. Fear is the well-oiled engine powering the anger train across rickety tracks to nowhere but despair. Last stop resturants and thick muddy coffee.

Did I mention I don't like it?

Bob and weave. Shadow boxing's easy. Being still is sometimes hard. And lonely. Like a rock, or a stick. An empty vodka bottle. Lonely things.

Can't sit still today. Not there yet. So I'll move. Get my mojo workin.'

Best to all.
