Where have my quitters gone? Still quit or fail?
 Quoting: Desert Fox

I’m back and I’m winning. Quit with my wife Thanksgiving night and am 100% nicotine free for coming on 4 days. Turned out it was a great time to quit. Long weekend at home, plenty of leftover food to lessen daily responsibilities. We pretty much puttered around, bitched at each other and the kids, took naps, drank water and cranberry juice, bitched and moaned some more and now here we are. I had both nicorette gum and an e-cig at home; neither of us has touched either one. We don’t want to prolong our withdrawal and that’s exactly what these aids do. We want every last fucking molecule of nicotine metabolized out of our systems. Taking in ANY sort of nicotine at this point puts us straight back to square one; I want no fucking part of going through this past weekend again….EVER. I know the fight will be on-going for a long while but I also know the worse of the pain and misery is over. It’s nice to be over the early stages of life sucking because you cannot smoke and into the stages of identifying the positive aspects of being free.

This really helped me a lot: [link to whyquit.com]
Nice thing about ntap is that each chapter is no more than 2 pages so I could grab my ipad and knock out a couple chapters for support/motivation. An above poster mentioned Alan Carr. I read his easyway book on drinking; I can imagine his smoking book is just as good.

I also downloaded the no smoking ipad app. Nice to see a running tally of how many smokes you have NOT had and how much money you HAVE saved.

Good luck to all in the midst of the fight and to all gearing up to enter the ring. One round at a time….it may not seem so but it is a winnable battle!! I (25 year smoker) am proof as are many others here.
I will be back with updates and to offer support for others.
