You can quit whatever you want to. You are not powerless. I struggled with drinking and smoking over the years. Gave up cigs May 11, 2001 and haven't had a smoke since. Gave up drinking Sept 30, 2006. All I did was read a book: The Easy Way by Allen Carr. I read it once, quit drinking, and didn't have to re-read the book, attend meetings, spend money on shrinks, or anything of the sort. Didn't have to do twelve steps or make myself obnoxious to everyone I ever knew. No pity parties, no wallowing in self abasement. Just a simple deprogramming manual that cost me about $15.
