Saying prayers for you for relief from pain. Watch the diet especially veggies with calcium oxalates. Here's a list of veggies to avoid. 80% of kidney stones comes from calcium oxalates.

Sorry to hear that. DF. I heard kidney stones feel similar to having a rhino horn in your back. I hope they gave you the good stuff that takes you to the land of dreamy dreams for the pain.

A lot of water and maybe it'll pass (this too shall pass) before Tuesday. Or you could coax it out with sweet whispered urgings, "Come on, baby, come to Papa," in a home version of "Romancing the Stone."

In any event, I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Please remain vigilant with the smokes as pain can be a real twister. That said, you're the patroni here and I have every confidence you're going to do it all in smooth fashion. A click away from four months for you, DF. A bump in the road. You can do this.

I hear ya on the sleeping, I am at 40 days now and I still am having trouble staying asleep and making it past dark thirty but with no ass dragging or general fatigue...

Yes, that's precisely why I also warned people. Trading suidical thoughts (ideation) for smoking cessesation is not a great trade. The same issue is prevalent in young people and SSRIs like Fluoxetine. Y'all have to be careful and read the drug insert to see what the adverse side effects are. It won't affect all people, just some, and if you already are depressed and have poor self-worth, then taking Chantix (varenicline) might be the wrong medicine for you.

In some cases, a kidney stone can be as painful as a difficult childbirth.

DesertFox, hang in there. Most people don't understand how painful a kidney stone can be. Then some of them get a minor urinary tract infection (UTI) and really hurt. Then they understand that a stone passing through and abrading and scraping the urinary track is like 100x a UTI. In cases where the stone is large and lodged, then they can't use the ultrasonic method to pulverize the stone. That means surgery and a lot pain and bed rest. I feel for you, Man.

While juicing is a remarkable way to heal from things like cancer, many veggies (see the list from Whole Foods that I included) contain calcium oxalate. For a healthy person, or a person trying to heal, that won't hurt you. For a patient who's genetically predisposed to kidney stones (and most likely gallstones too), then eating those foods causes 80% of the kidney stones to FORM. That's why a person who gets kidney DOESN'T eat those veggies. Or at least tapers back on them.
DF, tell the docs all of meds, because some may interfere with the meds you take while getting your surgery and INTERACT.

I think it could be my emotions straightenig themselves out as I have smoked (both) for so long, I have probably been masking them the whole time.

We smoked when happy
We smoked when sad
We smoked when mad
