Most wouldn't know any different. Their lifestyles are as normal to them as yours is to you. Most get a bit more considerate as they get older and learn more about their fellow citizens. But life is far too short to learn all there is to know and the cruel irony is that by the time you've learnt enough to be a decent human being you will be too old to do much with the information. The younger will be looking to make their mark and may see an old persons compassion as a sign of weakness.
