Bank of America Corp, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup have come under ever increasing denial-of-service attacks since the end of last year. The attacks use brute processing force to make a website unavailable to ordinary users, but gain no access to private information.

"Most people didn't take Iran seriously. Now most people are taking them very seriously," a source told Reuters.

Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase experienced unexplained website disruptions earlier this week, and NBC reported that the attacks may have been orchestrated by Iran.

All my earnings other than Social Security retirement come thru the internet.

Without the internet my income drops to about $10,000 a year. With it, it's about $24,000.

As you can tell, my footprint on the internet wouldn't blow a gnat off a leaf. But if larger portions of the internet became unusable, it could have a major negative impact on my life very quickly.

I'd have to live without air conditioning. You might laugh but the only reason so many people now live in FL is due to the invention of air conditioning. (Good God! It must have been a hell hole of a place to live a hundred years ago.)

The united States has said it may respond militarily to cyber attacks hasn't it? Seems I read recently that attacks on power grid/stations and that sort of thing would bring a military strike on the actor.

If cyber "terrorists" where to attack and infiltrate US government systems, do you believe that they would make their presence known by plastering burning US flags all over the system, or remain hidden till they need to bring the system down?

I'm not calling this thread B.S, but to believe that an organised hacking of US systems would do it simply to show off that they can, forcing the US to upgrade their security and rectify the problem, that sounds like B.S

If this has any grounding to reality at all, then I would believe this to be a false flag, not a terrorist attack, because as I mentioned a terrorist cell wouldn't make show off, they would try to remain on the system hidden from view, not plastering pics of burning flags.

I am not sure quite how the organisations under attack work, perhaps the US had too place these viruses on the system so that the worker their would report the incident as a real threat. Perhaps the organisation itself made up the whole incident in its entirety.

All I do know is that burning US flags raise a lot of unspoilt ones.
