Korea - More saber rattling b.s. or an ominous sign of impending war?
After reading this article and looking into how things on the Korean Peninsula is degenerating, this literal arms race between the North(DPRK) & South(ROK) is about to reach a point of no return. Much like how the Middle East is ready to go boom on a very short fuse that is already lit and primed, I can see the very same thing happening in Korea, but with more devastating results that neither country's could contemplate. Their neighbors in China(PRC), Japan, and Russia are quite worried, to think otherwise is sheer denial on their parts. Lots of diplomatic talk can be a confusing issue. Sorting through the bullshit language can be a tedious issue, but there are underlying worries that are involved here. The DPRK is living insanity on a scale that most people just cannot seem to comprehend, the Stalinst POV is old and dead in the modern age save for the North. It's all they truly know. The defections that we are seeing is only what we are allowed to know. I can only imagine the defections that we are not hearing about, both successful and unsuccessful. The arms race in terms of DPRK's nukes and their capabilities to reach out and touch someone is not something anyone should underestimate. Equally, the ROK's new missile capabilities have grown by leaps and bounds as to reach into the PRC and Russia. They will respond in kind on that matter, but what can anyone do with an untested youngster running one of the most repressive countries in the modern world with the 3rd or fourth largest army in the world? (Someone feel free to check out DPRK's Army rating in terms of numbers/strengths please.)

It would be all too easy for SHTF scenarios to break out over there while things would blow up in the Middle East. With America undergoing a suicidal plunge in downsizing her military forces across the board, that leaves America's enemies to smell her blood and to make bold moves to curtail any influence abroad. Case in point, the Dollar (USD) is going the way of the dinosaur with the recent moves in economic trade by China, Russia, Japan, and the Middle East powers. You all know where this going. It reeks of a setup, yet it continues unabated. How do we deal with it? I do not have that answer. I really wish I could say "doom on you Mr. Tango", but I just do not see that happening with the nuke issues and arms races. Take into account now that the Russian Federation has dropped out of the arms control deal with the U.S. will create major issues in terms of national security. I firmly believe this will embolden other countries to ramp up their weapons because the two largest powers on Earth can't get their shit together. Regardless of how many of you might shit on this article or make fun of it, the fact remains that we as a people on this planet are in very serious trouble. We have not seen a nuke detonated in anger at a country since 1945 and even then Fat Boy and Little Man were crude devices. To think of the capabilities of today's tac nukes and strategic nukes can unleash straight up frightens the hell out of me. To know that nearly all modern countries have such WMD's blows my mind and I'm a Marine Veteran. All the NBC Warfare training in the world could not prepare anyone for the magnitude of just one of those devices going off. It's an unpredictable thing should war break out on the Korean Peninsula or the Middle East. Damn the unseen powers of the NWO/Globalists and their spineless puppets not having the balls to put a stop to the madness. It's in their agenda to make this dream become a reality. My answer to this is simple: Perhaps the People of the World should make their agendas be equally known to too and say enough is enough and enforce the changes they need to ensure that the children of the world have a safe future.

This is just my opinion GLPers. The saying goes "Opinions are like assholes and that everyone has one and they stink." I hope that mine here doesn't smell to bad. A wake call of epic proportions is en route to the world at large. If, we the the People cannot put a stop to this madness or avert, then we had at least better be getting ready to survive it.

Stay frosty.

I enjoyed that read and it is madness the state of the current global situation that we are all in; not many people seem to comprehend that actual atmosphere and danger that we are all actually in, I'm not a loon who plays with tin foil hats but what you have put forward is one of the best reads I personally have had on this site in a long time . . . one thing I have noticed on here is when people put feeds they seem to be excitable over the thought of a massive war of which human would never be the same, from what people have put it seems as if they play games on PS3 or X-box and they think that is what war is the way I see things is that when it does kick of I would be surprised if I was sent to battle for long if at all I could only see it coming down to having to fight my next door neighbour friends ordinary people (if we haven't been vaporised) just for a peace of food or some clean water clothing the bear essentials some people may say that what I'm saying is crap but I can only put across my view and what I hope never happens.

Take care when the time comes.

If NK is going to do anything they'll wait till we're fully engaged with Iran. And there's no doubt in my mind that muzzie boy will bring back the draft if that happens....

Thank you both for replying! Things are so serious and coming to a head that the time for comical and cynical comments are old and over. It is no longer a question of IF this thing will kick off, but rather WHEN. How we deal with it is most important, hence the need for preparedness. I would prefer to see an outright peaceful resolution to all of this, but I reckon it is inevitable how the fight is about to come and be waged, for God's sake, everything we know and love is about to change in a way that we never thought would be possible. I want to see peace come, but logically I must also be ready for war and how it will be waged because it will be non-linear and unconventional. I would rather not be caught on the sidelines unawares.

The NK's motivations to what is currently happening in the world shall be most interesting. Will they initiate by surprise or wait? As far as I'm concerned, there are too many moving parts here. Too many variables that all equal out to a rather unpleasant outcome.

The bloated North Korean leader's dong is so un-well hung, his saber probably DOES rattle inside of his wife.

Isn't that his name...Un Well Hung?

LOL! Thor's Hamster. Seriously though, at some point the saber rattling will either stop or become real. Just a month ago the DPRK had a coup issue within the flag officer ranks that got a General and his staff/guards sanctioned. Kim Jon Un's uncle Choe-Thae Bok-Supreme People's Assembly ensured that his nephew's back was covered. That man's power is subtle and deep. I'm willing to bet that general was planning a coup d'etat or was viewed as an internal threat and that Kim's uncle did not want to see the power structure rattled.

Yes. The North often saber rattles, but this time it seems the South is taking it more seriously (ex: South Korea now is developing missiles that can hit anywhere in the North). I have a feeling that if war breaks out in the middle east, countries in other parts of the world will take advantage of that to settle old, festering scores with their enemies (ex: India/Pakistan; North/South Korea; etc.).

Makes perfectly good sense unfortunately. It'll be an all or nothing scenario played out right to the bitter end. Pakistan and India will be a bloody nightmare.

LMAO NK is already half starved. Any military commander would realize what it takes to make them fully starved. As Napoleon said, an army marches on its belly. True as now as it was then. US/SK forces for the easy win!

Perhaps. However, nothing is as easy as it appears. Especially when a govt as unpredictable as the DPRK is when the possibility of nukes flying might come into play. China's influence on the regime is strong, but not that strong and Russia is looked at with derision. It's no big secret that Russia and China look unfavorably at each other. Alliances of convenience can fall apart at a moments notice. Much hangs in the balance of brinksmanship. A bloody tinderbox it is.

Just fucking do it already so we can get on to the grand finale. I'm sick of trying to figure out which country is going to shoot their load first. Either do it or don't, but don't leave us all waiting for some big event that never happens. This is the problem with the world today, nobody has the balls to stand up for shit anymore because they know that it will suck for a while and they are not sure if it will get better afterwards. Could one of these stupid countries just go ahead and fucking do it so we can all get to Act III of this fatalistic tragedy. We already know what happens in the end if we have ever read a book. "Good" guys win, "Bad" guys lose, some people cry, others rejoice, bankers get rich either way, poor stay poor or die off, and the show goes on. Fuck all you saber rattling wimps, grow a pair and do this shit Gangnam style.

Re: Korea - More saber rattling b.s. or an ominous sign of impending war?
A few scenarios could set it off really..

Miscalculation in Syria right now could do it. Turkey might actually end up at war with Syria soon. That is extremely possible.

Another one is Israel & Iran. One incident in the Persian Gulf could set that off. US & UK could get involved.

China & Japan are infamously stubborn, both countries put war before losing pride. Panetta confirmed this recently.

India and Pakistan is always a powderkeg waiting to blow. When Islamists seize power in Islamabad, India will play hardball.

As for Korea, give it till June 25 in 2013. 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War.

.

OP, a democrat president has been responsible for:

-- US entry into WWI
-- US entry into WWII
-- dropping nukes on Japan
-- US entry into the Korean War
-- US entry into the Vietnam War

NK is patient, and also knows American history.

North Korea will WAIT for Obama to lose the election before
they start a war
-- simply because they know that any American
Democrat President will start a fucking war if given the chance ... just
to turn the public's attention off the Democrat's shitty economic policies.

very true statement, in my other thread, about a movie called Threads which I watched last night, it really captures what would happen in a nuclear war, nobody wins, nobody, land destroyed, crops failed, nuclear winter, radioaction for years and years, even simple things like, trying to bury thousands of bodies, no fuel for diggers, or even to burn the bodies, very scray stuff, anyone one who thinks having a nuclear war would be exciting need there head examined!

Exactly there seems to be only a few people who actually look at the bigger picture hear and you bought up a good point that I didn't and that was waste handling I.E bodies and the shear thought of a Nuclear war turns my skin its sad to say that the lucky ones wouldn't have survived in my opinion the only way this current world state could ever sort it self out would be war as it would lead to a clean slate in societies across the globe as there would be no governments left to help us all kill ourselves,as at this moment we are unable to look at a future without the need for I.O.U's money ( seriously read a bank note its a promise to pay ) there is more debt in this world then what there is actual money which is another weird statement about our current climate. I hope War never comes about but as the O.P stated and I agree its always best to be prepared for the worst.

Our respective government military authorities will do what they all ways do. Cajole. Order. Panic. We as a People need to get our individual acts together. There is way too much going on in terms of disinfo and psyops, add into the mix the impending war and economic implosion that is to come and you have one hell of a mixed recipe of Hell in the making. What we do now will determine much, it pays to stay in informed and to be knowledgeable because the issues that happen in one corner of the world invariably has an affect at the other end, much to the masses ignorance. Do what you must gang, but keep those eyes open and make the posts that counts, even the doubtful ones because they sometimes exposes a hidden truth that might be vital to our continuation as a people.
