uh no, computers can only process intell on a surface level,they cant see layered metaphors down in the intell...computers will never be self conscience,they will only mimic the software programmed into them...no offense AlIce,we still luv you.,  I agree that computers may never be "self" conscious (not totally ruling that out yet) but what if consciousness can enter into the capsule of the machine, kind of like a biological body, and live for eternity without physical pain? It would be tempting as hell and I haven't made my mind up yet as to what I'd do.
