It was a draft. Kids had to go whether they wanted to or not. Why aren't you serving right now?

Why aren't YOU walking point in Afghanistan? haha.. I am older than you. That's why I know how the American men felt back then. Then you should know damn well that hundreds of thousands of draft age men managed to get out of being drafted and sent to die in Vietnam, if they had the right connections. Many did not have connections.... like a friend that was an only son. He was returning back from Nam after the military realized he was a deferred status and stepped on a land mine. From an only son to no son. And for what???? A bogus war.
