I am all for that, there's a difference between fair voluntary trade and forcing your way onto other people's resources and wealth.

If you don't have a power to ensure free trade you want have it, we will just go back to a bunch of isolated tribes fighting with each other instead of trading and cooperating. That's bullshit, you begin to need force when you start to upset other nations by trying to force yourself onto their possessions and then you create a hostile environment not apt for honest and good willed commerce. There are two paths to take for civilization to prosper indefinitely and steadily, either you isolate yourself, make sure you can always defend your land and attempt to do honest commerce with other nations, or you utterly destroy the other nations until nothing remain and then take over their possessions. You don't just go half way or else you end with the mess we got now. Now as utterly destroying a bunch of innocent people is basically immoral and evil, I tend to philosophically take the first road mentioned. Bunch of crap. There is always middle ground and history shows us thus. Even if you take such an extreme example such American manifest destiny and also previous treatment of natives. There were many time natives and colonists lived fine together and traded, because trade was ensure by colonial powers. Some tribes even became "civilized" and taken into the fold and I am a result of that. The Cherokee Westernized in the South. They weren't all wiped out and not all their land was stolen. Tribes however that resisted manifest destiny however and American Federal dominance in the 1800s were wiped the fuck out though. None of the Cherokees land or wealth was stolen* I was generalizing all natives. But even then you couldn't. Guess who did steal from the Cherokee? Other Natives. They were part of the Iroquois nations until they had a feud and the other Iroquois nations wiped them the fuck out and made the rest flee done south.
