war after war and we can't beat a bunch of pesky peasants with AK-47's....

Yup... how quickly they forget! This is the problem with limited warfare. I hate it that we get into these little wars and force our troops to play by ridiculous rules that hamstrings their ability to win. We should never enter such a war. Total war is the only war that actually works. Total and utter destruction of the enemy to the point that they are broken, hungry, and too worried about living another day to contemplate fighting.
