Re: Jesus lied - period.
Clarke's Commentary on the Bible

There be some - which shall not taste of death - This verse seems to confirm the above explanation, as our Lord evidently speaks of the establishment of the Christian Church after the day of pentecost, and its final triumph after the destruction of the Jewish polity; as if he had said, "Some of you, my disciples, shall continue to live until these things take place." The destruction of Jerusalem, and the Jewish economy, which our Lord here predicts, took place about forty-three years after this: and some of the persons now with him doubtless survived that period, and witnessed the extension of the Messiah's kingdom; and our Lord told them these things before, that when they came to pass they might be confirmed in the faith, and expect an exact fulfillment of all the other promises and prophecies which concerned the extension and support of the kingdom of Christ.

To his kingdom, or in his kingdom. Instead of βασιλεια, kingdom, four MSS., later Syriac, Coptic, Ethiopic, Saxon, and one copy of the Itala, with several of the primitive fathers, read δοξη, glory: and to this is added, του πατρος αυτου, of his Father, by three MSS. and the versions mentioned before. This makes the passage a little more conformable to the passage already quoted from Daniel; and it must appear, very clearly, that the whole passage speaks not of a future judgment, but of the destruction of the Jewish polity, and the glorious spread of Christianity in the earth, by the preaching of Christ crucified by the apostles and their immediate successors in the Christian Church.

You can add this to the picture too - since there is no "christ" - there is no "anti-christ".

Re: Jesus lied - period.
OP, the blindness that God puts on people can be incredible. The verse you quote is;
Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

But right in the next chapter, this is fulfilled by Peter, James, and John when they hear the Father telling them to "hear" i.e. obey His Son Jesus. This established the Kingship of Jesus.

Matthew 17:1 ¶And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be ngot afraid.
8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

Let's get more specific then shall we?

Jesus said, "Congratulations to the one who came into being before coming into being. If you become my disciples and pay attention to my sayings, these stones will serve you. Re: Jesus lied - period.
From the point of Peter’s confession onward, Jesus begins to teach his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, suffer, be killed, and on the third day, be raised (16:21). Peter rebukes Jesus for saying this, but Jesus shows him that this is the only way (vv. 22–23). Jesus tells his disciples that they must take up their cross and follow him because it is foolish to gain the world and lose one’s soul (vv. 24–26). Then Jesus says, “For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom” (vv. 27–28).

Like Matthew 10:23, this text has also been the source of much debate. Davies and Allison survey some eight different interpretations that have been proposed.i Among the more prominent interpretations is the idea that “coming of the Son of Man” in view here is the transfiguration, which is narrated in the following chapter.ii Some suggest that Jesus is referring to his resurrection or to Pentecost. Others suggest that Jesus is referring to the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.iii Then there are those who believe Jesus is speaking here of his Second Coming and of the end of history. Among those holding this view, there are those who believe Jesus was mistaken because he believed this would occur within the lifetime of his hearers, and there are those who believe that Jesus was correct because the “some standing here” refers to a later generation.iv

In order to come to an understanding of this saying, we must again be reminded that when Jesus speaks of the “coming of the Son of Man,” he is purposefully alluding to Daniel 7:13–14. And again we must recall that the coming of the Son of Man in Daniel 7 is set within a judgment scene before the throne of God (cf. Dan. 7:9–10). Unlike the saying in Matthew 10:23, the saying in 16:28 is found in the immediate context of words regarding judgment (v. 27). The point that Jesus is making when he says that there are some standing here who will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom is that there are some to whom he is speaking who will not die before the prophecy of Daniel 7 is fulfilled, in other words, before Jesus receives the kingdom from his Father.

A comparison of Matthew 16:28 with its parallels in Mark 9:1 and Luke 9:27 lends support to this interpretation. All three sayings are set within the same context immediately before the Transfiguration, yet whereas Matthew speaks of some living long enough to see the coming of the Son of Man, Mark and Luke speak of some living long enough to see the coming of the kingdom of God. The “coming of the Son of Man” then is simply another way of saying “the coming of the kingdom of God.” It is the assumption that the words “coming of the Son of Man” must mean “Second Coming” that has caused much of the confusion. Once we realize that Jesus is simply using a phrase from Daniel 7 to allude to the whole prophecy, texts such as Matthew 16:28 are much more readily understood. Jesus was not predicting that his Second Coming would occur within the lifetime of some of his hearers. He wasn’t speaking of the Second Coming at all.v He was referring to the fulfillment of Daniel 7, his reception of the kingdom from the Father, and this was fulfilled within the lifetime of some of his hearers (cf. Matt. 28:18).vi

As noted above, Matthew 16:28, unlike Matthew 10:23, is set within the context of a discussion of judgment. Verse 27 speaks of the Son of Man coming with angels and judging man. If the coming of the Son of Man in verse 28 is an allusion to Daniel’s prophecy of one like a Son of Man coming up to the Ancient of Days, is the coming of the Son of Man in verse 27 a different “coming”? If it is the same “coming,” then what is the judgment spoken of in verse 27? There are two possibilities. Since Jesus’ receiving of the kingdom is part of an entire nexus of events that concludes only at the consummation and Second Coming, it could be that the judgment referred to in verse 27 is the final judgment. If so, Jesus speaks of the first and last events in the connected series as parts of a single whole but without mentioning the amount of time that might lapse between them. Another, more likely, possibility is that the judgment Jesus is referring to in verse 27 is the judgment referred to in Daniel 7:9–10, a heavenly judgment of the “beasts/nations” that is directly related to Jesus’ receiving of the kingdom of God from the Father, an event that occurs in connection with his first advent.vii

No one knows for sure if whats left of the Bible is (all) really said by Isa/Jesus(PBUH), additionally he taught in parables a lot to make things more understandable to people of the time as did many prophets(MABTA).

Most of what is taught about Isa(PBUH) in westernized "Christianity" came together hundreds of years AFTER his ascension to Jannah/Paradise. There's also quite a bit of his life(childhood for example) and teachings that were never compiled or were removed from the Injeel we've got today as part of elevating him to the godhead status leading to the shirk/idolatry rampant in many sects of Christianity today.

I have always wandering about there are some standing who will not taste death passage. It is in two spots in the NT.

The Lord also said to the Pharisees at His mock trial they would see Him when until He came back in Glory (Mark 14:62). Problem is if they died they would not be resurrected until after the second coming, so they would not see Him then.

^^ 3 confirmations ^^

So I SUSPECT the pharisees who murdered him (more than 1) were cursed with vampirism and are still around today.

Kind of explains the surge in vampirisim movies, cults, etc. we see today. The vampires must be getting ready to make their move because they know the time is near.

Jesus specifically said no one knows the day or hour of his return other than God himself which means exactly what it says.

Now lets look at what he said. Shall not taste of death.

Now as humans no one taste the bullet to the head nor the knife to the heart but,

On The return of christ and the great judgement then will be the second death.

If you read in revelation Satan and hell were cast into the lake of fire which he says is the second ĎĒĂŢĤ.

All those that were there at the cross back then will be judged and see Jesus return. I f you die for instance and lets say 2000 years later you see me again you could logically say I have returned.

The human death will not compare to the second death. You will smell it, you will tatse it, you will see it,you will feel it and hear it.

So then Paul lied - "... we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord."

You can't get around it - the very fact that the "explanations" found in the gospels "explain everything" is in and of itself another major problem. Why is it that "Paul" needed a "vision" to get the ball rolling, when the gospels seem to have all the details - the people would have known, even on a simple level. But yet, no one ever wrote about it until WAY after the fact in history?

The answer is simple - it never happened. Paul (who had a vision) made it all up. There was no "end" - there should have been, but it never happened.

I'm just going to add this one point ... the very fact that answers go around and around should show that christians MUST see this as real, despite the existence of data that shows it's wrong. "... we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord" means exactly what it says, and was said by the person who started this belief-circus. It never happened, later writings avoided the fact it never happened, and THAT is typical of how people think.

No, Jesus didn't lie. The gospels were written anonymously. No one knows who wrote them. They were given the names "Matthew, Mark, Luke and John" by a Catholic bishop. They could have been written by Harold the goat farmer for all we know. They were given those names bacause the Catholic Church wanted them to have legitimacy. They DON'T. They are made up stories.

and since they are the ONLY sources for info about Jesus...then there's a good chance that the person of Jesus was fiction as well...or based on an Essene holy man of that time period named Joshua who WAS crucified by the Romans.

This is all historical FACT. Just do some research. I did. I used to be a Southern Baptist minister, went to seminary and also believed in the infallibility of the bible.

but I went down the rabbit hole and REALLY researched the history of the bible and early CHristianity....veered from the information that I was spoon fed by the seminaries and actually looked at and read other sources of truth besides those texts I was TOLD to read...

I studies and researched my was right out of a religion.

I still believe in God, but not the "god" of the bible and there's a big question mark as far as an actual historical Jesus.

and BTW....all the earlist Christians were preterists. They ALL believed that Jesus was coming back SOON...like within a few years.

Since he didn't and they all died waiting, the Catholic Church had to do some quick editing of scripture and come up with another doctrine to cover....hence what we have today.

and if you think for a minute me coming to these conclusions was easy. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I gave up a way of life, a ministry, a faith, a church and a paycheck. I've been called heretic, going to hell, evil, deluded etc etc.

But above all else, I am loyal to TRUTH. Once I found out the truth....I couldn't UNKNOW it. Sometimes I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then. Ignorance can be bliss.

Alas.

Why was Jesus even NECESSARY? THIS MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. Christianity is FICTION !

So God decides to incarnate himself as a human who is both his son and himself simultaneously (somehow the Holy Spirit is tied into this to form a trinity). Jesus (God) is sacrificed on the cross to himself, to die for the sins of mankind. What the fuck kind of sense does that make? My understanding of the word sin is that it basically means: to miss the mark, fall short of the glory of God, whatever that may be.

Jebus was a zombee-period.

and BTW....all the earlist Christians were preterists.

Alas.

I agree, and went through this study for years beginning in '73. Unfortunately, there IS an explanation, the unfortunate part is that no one will believe it. The christian "end times" and "salvation plan" story was based on a belief that has been in circulation for at least 40,000 years. The main idea will never be seen until we realize that "the WOMAN never had a son"! The dying god connection is not old enough to straighten the picture out - we must go beyond Egypt and Sumer, because THEY were the source of the problem.

Re: Jesus lied - period.
Why was Jesus even NECESSARY? THIS MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

The original character involved in the base story was female - Egypt and Sumer changed everything 5300 years ago for a very real reason ... suddenly, the woman had a husband and son, and what we call the dying god was born. The exploits of this "son" vary from tale to tale, but Paul's usage was the most different. While most of Paul's context is correct (the destruction event and help from "above") it's the cast of characters that are dead wrong.

Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

John saw it, in a vision, which is what we call the book of Revelation. He saw it before he died.

Jesus didn't lie, just man didn't understand what He said. Most men still don't get it.

He didn't lie. I take it to mean spirit death or death of soul. We may physically die, but when He returns, all those dead and alive will all kneel before Him. Then when we are judged accordingly, those who were dead in Christ will live and those who died as unbelievers will die a forever soul death.
