I switched to an electric (corded) lawnmower, weed trimmer, and blower. Next is the chainsaw.

I highly recommend electric, but you're limited to about 125' of cord. It's not hard to avoid wrecking your (expensive) extension cords if you pay attention.

It's nice to let it lie dormant for 6 months and know that it will still start right up.

I have a generator to use if power is out, or for more mobile applications.

Homelite makes decent products for how cheap they are. Ryobi too.
