Why do Christians have such a hard time with geography?
It is always oh America is Babylon yadayadayada.
Babylon is close to Iraq and like every other location in the Bible located in the middle east.
No other part of the world was even worth a mention to the "God" that wrote the Bible.
Put down the Bible for a minute to find a world atlas or a globe FFS.

Revelation is spiritual, not geographical.

Apparently, you haven't read the Bible (KJV)? In the OT alone, we are taught mathematics and the beginnings of our civilizations among other things. If you want to get technical, the Bible is were schooling was derived from...of course, until they added false history and replaced Bibles with science books. Hmm, I wonder why that is?dance

1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:6-9 KJV
6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Matthew 15:8-9 KJV
8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Acts 5:29 KJV
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Read it before making a fool of yourself. You will see that the city of Jerusalem is call called Sodom and Egypt in Revelation, you know it is Jerusalem because it is then called the City where the Lord was Crucified. The same with Babylon, Babylon was a code word for an evil city or nation. That is how the Bible works, deal with it.

Iraq's literal Babylon is mentioned in the OT. The NT Babylon is found in Rome where the religion & empire moved to. Rome's empire is bigger than the USA; bigger than the UN.

Re: Why do Christians have such a hard time with geography?
Geography is the least of their problems. Some of them believe that the world was only created some 5000 years ago. Then you have those loons who think Jesus rode on the back of a Raptor.

But I agree about Christians and geography. I think most wouldn't be able to point to Jerusalem on a map let alone Babylon.
Ayatollah Khomeini:
“Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled and incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of [other] countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world. But those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world…. Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by [the unbelievers]? Islam says: Kill them [the non-Muslims], put them to the sword and scatter [their armies]. Does this mean sitting back until [non-Muslims] overcome us? Islam says: Kill in the service of Allah those who may want to kill you! Does this mean that we should surrender to the enemy? Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for Holy Warriors! There are hundreds of other [Koranic] verses and Hadiths [sayings of the Prophet] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”
