I must admit that this story keeps sticking in my head. I know the situation is bad, but I had no clue that humanity could go that low.

I clicked on the youtube video and the latest comments are still sick. "Amanda Todd's a whore", "she deserves what she gets", "dumb whore".

I'm looking forward to WW3 and the nuclear annihilation.

This is the way its been for some time now. Only a few, like us live to appreciate everyone, but evil is upon us in many forms. I myself am very depressed and suicidal but I cant lose. My life is not much of one, but I plan to make it to my end.

Having followed this story about this little gal and the outrageous predicament she was caught with no way out, isn't it striking how virtually NO PROGRESS has been made protecting children from crimes of stalking and being terrorized for a full 1 1/2 years, and no one was prosecuted.

No protectors at school from 3 different administrations, no action on the part of a single law enforcement officer, not one charge filed.

And now she is dead.

Nutshell.

Anybody else starting to have real concerns about the internet? Lives are being ruined over things that really aren't a big deal but because of the omnipresance of the net there is no escape, young people aren't considering concequences of their actions and sick, heartless bullies get their teeth into said victaim and are themselves to sick or deluded to know when it's gone to far. As for Attention whore and she deserved it comments well, I pity the people coming out with such statements. It's not big or clever.

What could the schools or police have done? once a picture is on the internet it never comes of. Ever.

I am not sure it is cowardly.....in that moment you are not a coward. Sure it may be cowardly to leave family like this but the act of suicide is one of pure desperation.

Her harrassers pursued her onto the grounds of her new school and ruined her chances of starting over.
Schools should have arrested them for trespassing and terrorizing one of their students in their charge.
They should have taken them all the way to court and prosecuted them.
Her parents should have filed charges against these kids just as adults have remedies for this sort of thing.
Facebook has responsibility to enforce rules regarding harrassment and BANNED/removed any account from an IP address or anything that matches old info from a previous account.

Parents and schools are responsible to take whatever actions necessary to protect minors from repeated ongoing attacks.
They never do.

A child can be beaten, bloodied and destroyed by attackers, were children adults there would be legal consequences.

Bottom line, she suffered horribly alone and in private as no one really gave a shit enough to follow up all the way through.
There should have been a trial. Instead she was given lots of pills with huge well-known warnings of suicide in young teenagers.

Human beings are a completely failed experiment because of their inability to use common sense. No heart, nothing.

Indeed, Neither suicide or euthanasia are cowardly or selfish.

Suicide is an irrational act by definition, it is considered that in other means, with others independent variables, the subject would not have made the choice. Either way it takes balls.

Euthanasia is more thought out, so not irrational, but still not cowardly. Which is better for someone plotting to euthanize? To live in a personal hell forever just to save others a temporary placement of surviver guilt? I do not feel the act can be cowardly, but how one goes about the act can be depending on how they left behind this world.

As an Exit Guide, it is still very sad to see a teen take her life, more so that people hate on her after the fact. But no, suicide is far from cowardly and anyone that honestly thinks this is a mere sheep that has ate the taboo society put on it.
