U.S. authorities know exactly where all of its untapped Quoting: HolyCow oil and gas deposits are, and they do not want to mine any of them right now because they want all of the other countries to use up all of their oil and gas deposits before we start using ours. this is the reason why the U.S. government so tightly controls the oil and gas drilling and does not issue very many permits. (it's cheaper in the long run to buy all of our oil and gas from foreign countries now, and save all of ours for when oil and gas are really scarce) Interesting patriotic theory, but this is not why the US does not develop domestic oil. The reason is so that other nations have to keep buying Federal Reserve notes so as to be able to buy oil on the world market. If this were to stop, the US Dollar would be in the toilet with inflation likely at 50%+ per year. |

(it's cheaper in the long run to buy all of our oil and gas from foreign countries now, and save all of ours for when oil and gas are really scarce) By the time they actually get around to tapping in to it AMERICA could well be a ghost country....totally empty due to poisons and pollution....After doing in depth research lately I cant believe how contaminated the country is! But of course if you really did do your research you would see that the water and air in the U.S. is less polluted than it was in the late 1960's and early 1970's, let alone in the decades before that. Daytime looking like midnight in Pittsburgh because of the pollution from the steel mills, Lake Erie declared biologically dead in 1970. Let that sink in for a moment, the lake was declared to be biologically dead. A river in Cleveland actually caught on fire. No, sorry, there is plenty of doom to be worried about, but air and water pollution in this country is less than it used to be. This was due to environmentalists actually worrying about real pollution back then, and getting laws passed to force industry to take measures to improve things. Now the "greens" are trying to brainwash people into believing that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, instead of trying to continue the progress made against real air and water pollution. |

Investopedia explains 'Billions Of Cubic Feet Equivalent - BCFE' This term, most commonly found in the annual reports of natural gas and oil corporations, is used to quantify the energy produced (or potentially produced) by a company's reserves, as well as what is actually delivered to customers. One billion cubic feet of gas equivalent can produce roughly 1.028 trillion BTUs, which is enough to power all of Delaware's natural gas needs for slightly more than one week. Considering that the average natural gas well pumps roughly 250,000 - 350,000 cubic feet equivalent per day, it would take one well roughly 3,000 days to pump one billion cubic feet equivalent of natural gas. It is exactly what they want to do, bleed everyone else dry and still have the huge unpublicized reserves at home to switch to when the rest of the world is cratering.
