30-50 MILLION people have tinnitus. And those are just who reported it.

I have had the high pitch slightly pulsing inner head tone for a year now. This month actually. Had all the usual tests... nothing pinpointed for this.

I personally know at least 5 people who have had it for years.

Thank goodness mine is fading or absent for small bits of time.

When it fades away, do you find yourself wondering where it went? Like a butterfly that flew away, will it ever come back? Sorry you have been haunted by this, a lot of us have also and for some its nice to have silence! For me, it is more noticeable and changing in volume. I don't want to chase off something that might be good for me. Not yet, anyways.

If you can sleep and are not bothered by it, then that is great. Most that have this "noise" in their ear/head are disturbed immensely.

The first couple of times that I had no perception of the sound, it kind of freaked me. Like something was wrong. Now I enjoy the silence.

I miss not being able to meditate.

The changing in volume as you are experiencing is quite common of tinnitus sufferers. Two or three days of mild volume or low volume and the next couple of days loud and irritating volume.

I have never heard of a person that hears tones in their head/ear area say that they think it is good for them. Interesting that you feel that way.
