Did you know saying MLK was a Republican is pointless because the Democrats and Republicans of 50,60,70+ years ago were totally different in ideology and demographics than they are today? I mean, Jesus, that's like the people who call the Republicans the 'Party of Lincoln' and think it means something.

Good post OP. While it is true that the parties have evolved a lot over the decades and centuries, it is a great myth that the Repubs are an historically racist party.

Good post OP. While it is true that the parties have evolved a lot over the decades and centuries, it is a great myth that the Repubs are an historically racist party. I grew up in a Southern Democratic family....(racism was a daily discussion) thankfully, my neighborhood and the people I grew up with, effected me in a positive way, we all grew up as equal in a very uniquely mixed area.
