I wish this were not true, but it is. I was a social worker for over a decade and encountered many low-IQ, low functioning -- and likely inbred -- "families" such as this.

They have both a high birthrate and high mortality rate. Drunken driving, drug abuse, and morbid obesity kill off a lot of them.

AFY, dear heart! Nothing personal, and I meant no slight towards yourself or other wonderful folks of our common heritage.

I am simply writing as a former social worker who observed this uniquely American subspecies firsthand, and grew intrigued about just what is wrong with them.

An anthropological viewpoint, nothing more.

If you take the stupidest people from any ethnicty, and exclusively interbreed them among their own stupidest kinfolk over and over again for over 200 hundred years, with a fresh generation approximately every 15 instead of the standard 25 year generation... you'll come up with something like this.

In this case, it was people of the British Isles diaspora inbreeding in isolated mountain communities here in the southeastern and south central US.

GREEN PINNING this to spread the horror I had to deal with for over a dozen years as a social worker.

Interesting. I think other factors also play a part, like demographics for example, it seems segregation is alive and well, cluster the stupid for easier control. It seems also that in less affluent areas education is of little concern and life opportunities leading to education even less prevalent. Thx for your input.
