I wonder if this is a clue as to how comets get their ice.

You need to go to Science Daily and discuss how their research is invalid.

Personally I believe them more than you
 Quoting: Saptaparna

I already sent an e-mail to them and to my colleagues discussing just that. I am also a scientist.

Scientific papers do contain errors. Science is not infallible.

This is not a plausible hypothesis.

H-O bound energy is 464kJ/mol.
Si-O bound energy is 621kJ/mol.

That means that a free proton wont strip that oxygen from silicate rocks.

Even though the high energy protons coming from the Sun have enough energy to form H-O from silicates, the then free silicon will READILY react with water.

That is the very reason you can not find free silicon in nature. Instead, most part of crustal rocks, on Earth and the Moon by common history, are silicates or oxygen and silicon bound together.

I understand those theories as well. thumbs

BTW, others would claim yours is pseudo-science. I'm sick of that word.

So, I take it all in, and adjust my thoughts on particulars as needed.

Oh, comets do contain several ices. Like I said, they formed far from the Sun and so they have a great ammount of volatile substances frozen in the form of ice.

I've always believed the material fused in the Sun will re-condense from sun light slowed down, back into the original material it was.

If light travels on forever, then the night skies would be brilliant white.

It makes sense, as energy can not be created or destroyed. That light turns into something other then heat. It is a particle as well.

megaelectron volt

..(eV). One eV is the amount of kinetic energy gained by an electron as it accelerates through an electric potential difference of one volt. It is usually more convenient to use a larger unit such as megaelectron volt (MeV), which is equal to one million electron volts.

Reread my post. I accounted for high energy. Whe it is dissipated or absorbed, what happens when the recently free silicon meets the recently formed water?

My sci-facepalm thoughts:

1. Solar winds carry water
2. Earth's magnetic shield fading ( pole shift)
3. No defense from solar wind
4. Flood comes from the sky ejected by the sun(god).

Ever since late 99 I thought that comets accumulated ice through some type of electro-magnetic relationship.

They have to be accumulating mass somehow, or else they would burn out.

It was that comet discovered around that time...before hale-bop.

I can't remember the name of it. But at the time I was interested in it and read about the conventionally accepted dustball comet theory...these dudes were challenging it and used this comet as a platform to discuss the alternate theory.

Yeah. But on what scale?
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.
