Who made money on Smolensk funerals?

Was someone trying to make money even on the death of the Smolensk air crash victims? Who received the money which was to be spent on the funerals? This subject, raised in April 2012 in the book entitled "They had to die," edited by the "Gazeta Polska," was yesterday made public by the "Superwizjer" programme, broadcast by the TVN TV station.

The "Superwizjer" reporters have reconstructed the course of events connected with burying the victims of the air crash near Smolensk. It turned out that on 10th April representatives of the Polish Funeral Chamber had offered the cabinet for free: coffins for all the victims of the air crash, transportation of the bodies as well as organising the funerals. However, they were not given an answer.

Instead, the cabinet ordered a private company to organise the funerals and the company ordered the coffins for all the victims in Italy. It did so because on the day of the air crash the company did not have a sufficient number of coffins. The order was made by the Inspectorate of Support for the Armed Forces. The "Superwizjer" reporters managed to establish that apart from ordering the coffins from Italy, the company also dealt with closing the coffins in Moscow and with other funeral services. For all that it received from the budget of the state more than 250,000 PLN.
