i concur with amino acids being the answer to depression; i tried everything vit d [helped a tiny bit]; st johns you name it; tried to eat raw diet; no wheat diet; etc etc etc. Nothing every worked; i was down all the time for no reason. I tried theanine with some other stuff; it works perfect; in fact better than smoking you know what.

I have been reading some good things about theanine. It is abundant in green tea and in black tea as well. So that may be a good reason to have a few cups a day.
