My Amino Update:
I rarely take 5-HTP any more. No need for it. My depression is gone 100%. Anxiety is dramatically reduced by 95%. It only shows up if I eat too much wheat, dairy and/or sugar. Those mess me up still. Otherwise, I'm 100% solid there, too.
I still take L-Tyrosine in the early a.m. for an energy boost. I take two 750 mg capsules from Vitacost. I was on one and didn't notice much. I bumped it to two and feel GREAT. Max dosage on this in the Mood Cure book is 2,000 mg.
I occasionally take DL-Phenalalanine. I only take it if I feel my endorphin levels are low. For the most part, they're great, so little need for those now either.
I very rarely pop a GABA as I'm rarely stressed out/uptight. If I take one, it will be at night so I can settle into a peaceful night's rest.
No side effects whatsoever. I am simply leveled out emotionally in a very dramatic way.
I still HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the book "The Mood Cure" by Julia Ross, MS. That book has been a true lifesaver for me. I am not associated with her in any way (don't even know her). Just love her book and know it is literally saving and restoring lives.
