Nature wastes nothing, what's not eaten just goes back to where it came from...

The cost of shipping fruit from here to starving countries is to much to just give it away.

I hear ya.
I live in a city.
theres food bearing trees all around and they just go to waste.
people plant shit ornamental garbage trees and plants and ignore and chop down the good ones

of course it's labour intensive, but of all the unemployed and welfares and lazy unemployable losers, few even notice what is right in front of them.
most of them get bitter and turn to crime and drugs in dispair of lack of money for enjoying life.
the rest drive around angry and aggrivated doing evil and hurting people so they can be a success at their stupid jobs they are fail at. and fail at being human.

I harvested 225 pounds of black walnuts this year from three trees (two form a neighbour and one in ours) in the backyard where i live I did all kinds of other stuff and i didn't even try very hard. I skipped over the hulls and probably wont make use of the shells either but just the nut meats alone once they are cracked, are worth about $200 or more and storeing them in the shell they last a long time.

i duped the two neighbours into tossing theirs over the fence for me instead of having to clean them up. The other someone else was cleaning their yard or i would have gotten more. They were just going to throw them all away anyhow.

they kindof taste like a cross between skeeter repelant and a pinecone with a appley nutty aftertaste.
it was quite a bit of work but I have nothing better to do with my life. I was spending lots of money on walnuts before. i looked in the store the other day and a plastic tub 300g of shelled walunts is 7bucks
if i was using the rest of the fruit (hulls for medicinal and stains and the shells) as well it would be worth even more.
it makes a big mess but contained and cleaned up its not a problem. I see many nut trees in just this area mostly wasted from a forgotten time when people had brains enough to utilize the resorces at their disposal. They don't need them, they just form a union and demand raises till they end up out of a job then blame it on other people, while blowing all their money on cheap thrills and useless junk.

I'm a farmer and I have fruit left over at the end of harverst. I would open myself up to lawsuits if I let people come on my property and pick the leftover fruit. It's not worth the risk.

It's unfortunately the times we live in these days.

Each years are wasted by industry the amount of food to feed 7 billions people.

I was living in Carpinteria, So Cal a few years ago and the 20 acre ranch next door, up the hill was an orange and avocado farm with a mansion. The government seized the property for whatever and I had permission to use the place for hiking and trail running with my dog.

20 acres of the juiciest oranges and tastiest avocado's just growing and rotting. I helped myself every night and morning before and after work. Avo's were selling for $2.00 each in town, and heres me stuffing them by the hundreds in my back pack for months for free. Fresh squeezed orange juice avery day, free.

Not to mention beautiful, private running/hiking trails where I would get up with my dog and watch awesome sunrises over the ocean from the foothills every morning, all for free, right out my back door. Then at night in the dark hiking and star gazing while my dog ran all over, never losing sight of me.

Tons of food went to waste though. I can only eat so much myself. But I sure lucked out for over 5 years.

i also chopped and stacked a cord and a half of firewood that people were throwing away from their backyads on this street alone.

To the person that called me a left winger..i have never voted in my life..i dont have an appetite for politics..

God what a bunch of crap! I was molested in church by a preacher..FFS. I have yet to meet civilized folks in church..I quit going for obvious reasons but everyone I've met that goes are the biggest hypocrites I've ever met. One of my church friends..goes to church every Sunday..thats after getting drunk on Friday and watching porn on Saturday. Religion is an excuse, and is used by the people who need an excuse.

Well my pear trees were loaded this year.Having to trim branches and use poles to support them.We didnt eat any.All had spots inside when you cut them open and the ones we pulled off and brought inside to finish ripen had some type of fly that would develop inside the fruit.We figured if they had fly eggs of some sort we sure didnt want to eat them even if they looked good.
A lot of times if you see fruit laying on the ground there is a reason for it.My father had trees and there were some years we wasnt allowed to eat fruit from certain trees.Very few people have trees just so the fruit can rot.

This is very true.Fruit weighs a lot and shipping is outrageous.
Also you have a short time frame to distribute fresh fruit and veggies and they have to be packed with ice in some shipments too.Greens as an example cant heat up and lay for 3 days on the way to the markets.

There must be a lot of intoxicated wildlife around the area then...

There arent problems only solutions that havent been figured out yet

in our town... there's a group of volunteers that go around the neighborhoods and help pick the fruit off the trees for people that aren't able to do so.

1/2 goes to the pickers
1/2 goes to the foodbank

and its keeps the bears out of peoples yards.

Does the BIBLE not say in DEUTRONOMY that we should leave the leftovers in the FIELDS for the poor and widowed to come pick or something of this sort ?

Problem is EVERYTHING has been ENGINEERED to be the wrong way around. EVERYTHING is connected to MONEY the EVIL of this world.

People have been conditioned in such a manner that they would rather look at another STARVE to DEATH than open their orchards for EVERYBODY to come and ENJOY his BOUNTY because it would be more expensive for this MAN to pick all the fruit and deliver it to a market, gas labour and such, to make it worth his effort.

Yes he has an excuse for leaving the FRUIT to DIE and rot bacause he would go BROKE if he did deliver and not make ANY PROFIT.

NOPE his decision was "I would rather let all the FRUIT ROT on the TREES than to allow ANYBODY to have ANYTHING"

ummmmm possibly, but mostly no. drops, the stuff that falls off the trees, are considered toxic to long term health as they attract pests and disease. a properly maintained, and therefore the healthiest orchard, is one where leaf debris and fruit is regularly and swiftly collected from the orchard floor and removed to some distance where it is processed. drops are most often turned into fruit beers, and leaf/branch debris should be burnt.

Here in Japan i need to pay ca 15 USD
for a Kg of Grapes, 2USD for one Apple,
Pear, Peach, etc.,
they all look perfect but c'mon- we need
Fruits, everyday and for everyone!

I know a lady who says that residential school was the best thing that ever happened to her. It took her from a filthy abusive drunken home and gave her the tools to make something of herself.

She still took the settlement money though.

The residential school system was modeled after the British private school system and not all of the attendees were abused nor were all of the staff abusers. Some of them were good people who dedicated their lives to helping the native people but they are all tarred by the same brush now.
