| Anonymous Coward User ID: 23919169 10/17/2012 03:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am a woman, and if I didnt have to work and help earn money for the family I would likely never leave the kitchen. It is just where a devoted wife should be, in my old fashioned, politically incorrect opinion. As it is I do everything i can to put mazing food on the table, pack awesome lunches, clean up after everyone when required, and I do it all with joy and love in my heart. It doesnt mean i think women dont belong in the working world, or that women are incapable of being anywhere but the kitchen. It is because I believe a kitchen kept woman is the corner stone of a healthy, thriving family, and I love to be that corner-stone as much as possible. It kills me when my health fails from time to time and i have to be waited on by my husband. Wish he never had to do that, but i do my best! But, believing as i do only works with a certain type of man!! My husband is awesome, notices and appreciates absolutely everything i do!!!!! <3 My ex, on the other hand, abused me, used me, and took me for granted. On my sickest days he would rant and rave about how lazy and fat I am for not getting off my ass to tend to his "needs". |
| God Loves ALL User ID: 8481661 10/17/2012 03:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well I always loved cooking, not as interested anymore, just for me. But whoever belongs in the kitchen is the best cook, IMHO. As to any family! Put the best cooks in there, and let the others clean the mess! This works very well in families welling to experiment. Or share the task around. Be flexible. You look on the bacon MO, it was once good, its not anymore and those pigs are so abused. I had read stuff on the net and in books which promoted my giving up meat because it was also tasting bad. When a big tornado hit our middle a few years ago and ripped off barn roofs, I saw factoring farming close up from the helicopters. They keep the nursing mothers standing between bars until the babies are weaned to promote the most survival. I had troubles believing it was that bad, until I saw it. As best I can I buy organic eggs, which are always free range, supposedly anyway, but I found images recently of how area cage free chickens gat and they are still crowded but I guess they get to be crowded over the whole barn anyway, which is better than the cage. I enjoyed real eggs over labor day weekend when we stayed on a small farm, which the chickens roamed in a large area outdoors plus a nice size hen house, and got fed crayfish from the pond. OH MY......... I need eggs. I am not a big producer of my steroids and eggs help. I consume 2 a day. Every time I try to be vegan and go off the eggs I am tired. I do not buy the cheaper eggs, always cage free, I have to do the best I can. currently enjoying some of the better organic eggs on the market, but they just aren't always available when I am shopping. I ride the bus, so that limits my shopping, as to time. When I had a car, I could go to another store...... I sure would love to raise my eggs. The best organic ones, are not as good as eggs out of the back yard. I enjoyed a few years ago eggs from chickens that roamed on 10 acres and more, as they crossed streets and went under fences. There is no comparison to eggs from happy chickens that get BUGS also to eat. I am not impressed by "vegetarian" chickens. They need bugs, crayfish, and other critters in their diet. Man was given chickens for the cholesterol man needs to make his steroids. He was supposed to make animal food of the meat from kindly raising the guys and put those feathers to good use. The actual Lord's Prayer Given by Jesus 2000 years ago. "MY SPIRIT, YOU ARE OMNIPOTENT. YOUR NAME IS HOLY. MAY YOUR REALM BE INCARNATE IN ME. MAY YOUR POWER REVEAL ITSELF WITHIN ME, ON EARTH AND IN THE HEAVEN. GIVE ME TODAY MY DAILY BREAD, AND THUS, LET ME RECOGNIZE MY TRANSGRESSIONS AND ERRORS, AND I SHALL RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH. Got mad at husband one Saturday morning & refused to cook breakfast. Husband decided he could do scrambled eggs w/ cheese. He used one slice of cheese per egg and cooked the whole concoction to a blackened part rubbery/part slimy mess. Kids begged me to never let daddy cook again. So, in order to maintain the good health of my family, I am the one who cooks. I"m also the one who cooks in my household. My husband can make toast and boil water, but that's about it. I don't mind cooking for him tho because he really enjoys it, makes it worth the effort. Have You Accepted Jesus As Your Savior Yet? What Are You Waiting For? I have no basis for this claim beyond my experience, but I often feel almost instantly energized by eating eggs. It is so fast and pronounced, I cannot deny it. It is almost like my body lacked whatever the eggs have. I think it's more than protein, because I do not get this feeling from other high-protein foods. I become suddenly awake, aware, and upbeat, as if I am 15 years younger, seriously. |

Love, MO I don't understand why women get so pissed off about this subject. In my opinion, things were a hell of a lot better in society when they stayed home to be a "homemaker". They were the glue that held the entire family unit together. They stayed home where they did the cleaning cooking, sure, but they were also home when the kids got home from school. She was there to nurture them, and to help them with their homework and to teach/instill wholesome and honest values that have all but been lost in today's society. In my mind, a woman who chose to stay home then (and now) should be looked upon as someone to be admired and held up in high regard not something that is demeaning. |

I don't have a man though, I just cook for anyone that's here and wants to eat. And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." Amen. |

Reminds me of the Laurel"s Kitchen Cookbook with its lovely essay Keeper of the Keys. That essay was an infuence to counter to go-go grasping eighties. It helped me walk out of step with the career women. I think all good things in my life came from that essay, that attitude, that its a wonderful privilege and not a shame to be a woman who works in her kitchen and garden, who raises her children by her own hand, and is not too good to care for her own family and community. Sometimes this place just blows me away. |
