This is the tragedy of the gutting of our manufacturing base, everyone cannot go into the hard sciences, everyone does not belong in college piling up debt upto thier eyeballs, a true tragedy, a whole population of people losing wealth faster than they can create it and a youth population not even having the chance to create it, it's not going to end well.

Okay, I would like to clarify something. I received a negative karma from someone calling me a non-degreed idiot. Not that a fucking piece of paper means jack shit, but I must clarify for the sake of objectivity.

I hold a BS in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry and have heavy minors in physics and mathematics. I also have an associates of applied science in paramedic technology. And have worked on my Master's in both Chemical and Electrical Engineering.

Also, I want to be clear, I earned both degrees without federal financial aid with the exception of one student loan of 4000 that I paid years ago.

Both of the master's degrees I have pursued, I did so on my own, no help from Uncle Sam. I also hold certificates in welding, machining, masonry, carpentry and diesel engine repair. I earned these over the course of twenty plus years since I was sixteen!

I love to learn new skills, I love to read everything from SM Stirling to Homer, and I am frankly sick of hearing men tirade that they can't find jobs, and are 'too old', don't have time, or whatever reason to learn a new skill.

That's bullshit, you have time to watch mother fucking football, basketball, or MMA then you have time to learn a useful skill or take a class.

Votech courses are often free or very low cost, opencourseware may not grant a degree but you can learn, frankly it's a fuck excuse.

Oh and I also have taken lots of Ag courses to learn to be a better rancher and farmer. I have a lot of free time because my business that I have busted my ass at takes care of itself, and the my ranch is a labor of love.

Someday's, I put in 16 hours on my ranch and sometimes, I'm gone for days with business. I also put in thirty hours a week homeschooling my son, and that is greatest job I do.

Umm no moron , out there in the big wide world are thousands of people with the same or more brain and physcial attributes as you. The difference is they are in dire poverty and or just barely getting by. I have degree in Business and Dental hygiene (which is a trade) and still no jobs. I've been out of work since April, applying constantly everyday. This isn't Obama. This is years of Bush spending trillions on war and sending jobs to china. Not sure why you guys keep blaming Obama when these are things that have built up over time, they don't just happen over night...or in one presidential term. You guys chose Bush for two terms, of course you're fucked now.

That's where you're wrong. My mom used to work on Wall Street as a Managing Director for a major European bank. She got fired a couple years ago, hasn't been able to find work since. Her colleagues are also getting fired left and right. The banking industry is in major flux right now.

I have a friend from MIT who also lives in MA. He is so over educated yet under employed.

His field of study is blocked by the government.

He has over a dozen alternitive fuel sources. Most of them are mechanical while his best are from chemical reactions from objects and liquids found in your local grocery or home!

No wonder he can't find a job, he is being silenced.
