Anyone have experience with the Golden Dawn (occult order, not Greek party)?
[link to www.golden-dawn.com]

I am leaning towards the Golden Dawn because it has had the largest influence on Western occultism of any other organization. It is the original. (Eastern occultism is too flimsy for me--great for achieving happiness, peace, or nirvana, but not much else--not enough mystery)

I've considered theosophy, but they don't give much support to the individual member. It's more like a book club or something.

Thelema is kind of hedonistic and conflicts with a lot of my morals, like modesty and sacrifice. Aleister Crowley was a genius, but kind of creepy sometimes...

Freemasons are really shady and tend to be a bunch of old Christian men.

Rosicrucians are too splintered. The Golden Dawn is more intact.

The Golden Dawn is not like a religion and does not impose any morals on you or require that you think a certain way or believe certain philosophies. They just teach you the stuff, provide a close-knit society, and you do what you want with what you've learned. Anything but tell other people... But occult rituals would lose their power if a bunch of amateurs were attempting them without proper initiation. The power is in the secrecy. I know lots of people don't like that, but that's the way it is.

If I find out they're part of the NWO or something atrocious, I will betray them...because that is not what I will have signed up for. Otherwise, never.

I am tired of school, of life, of everything. I have other goals in life (like resistance), but I want to take a few years out and advance through all the levels until I am adept. I'm already an active occultist, but there are certain things you can only learn through an Order.

The problem is, there are several organizations that claim to be the Golden Dawn.

Anyone have experience or know which is the real one?

thelemites are gay,

most of the ones i know are all that Obnoxious goth kid you knew in high school, who acts weird just to act weird.

Here's the other thing i find with most occultists in 2012:

99% of them couldnt tell you anything behind anything,

they cant elaborate on anything, have no clue what symbols mean, or the origin of anything,

MAINLY because occultism today is a social club,

so if you are looking for a weird goth chic to fuck, or to smoke pot with

check out thelema aka OTO

if you are looking for insight visit the library.

Oh, and every one of them is a screwy liberal, without exception

What about Libertarian occultists?

Yeah...no Thelema. I read Liber Legis and it gave me a bad feeling.

I like that occultism is widespread today, because at least we're not in danger, but the mainstream New Age stuff is useless and social...

You never said what you think of the Golden Dawn.

if you are a occult level hacker/resister there is plenty of use for you. Stay independent, and stick to your instincts of what is the true and correct future for humanity....

i know you have had mind infitration and noise operations to keep you bumped out of NOW conciousness....

remember this is the system itself.... it is the system of occult control and it is US vs THEM.

That said, here's a clue from my experience.

Always target the PARADIGM; stay within the realms of the construct; and fictions become as nothing... the attacks to procure fear anxiety and hate step up and become constant, because they DESPERATLY want you to linger in their dictated cognition.

I don't know, but why not listen to a few insiders who were in some of them:

Youtube: Roger Morneau, Mark Cleminson and Carolyn Hamlett to start with...

all of them were in some pretty nifty groups...

not so sure once you initiate you can ever get out... though...

glad to hear.

we are the future, we are the force. we are the independent force that they cannot control, and they will always fail because we SEE them, through their methodologies.

beware any infiltration to capture high level intellect becaue their infiltration must be into our ranks; they must become AS US.

and it is entirely independent of order; it is faith in the goodness of humanity.

I have to see what's in there.

If it's corrupt, I'm strong enough to get out or worse. Maybe that's why no Order has invited me yet. They're probably a bit wary of me. It's not that I'm a traitorous person; I would be fiercely loyal to whatever I signed up for, secrecy included, but oppression will not be part of what I sign up for and if I find out along the way that it's NWO stuff...byebye.

Actually, the reason they haven't invited me yet is probably because I've only been 18 for a month. XD So maybe I'm just impatient.

I like the Golden Dawn because it seems to be the spring that everything else flows from. It teaches the broad principles of occultism and both Thelema and Enochian have split off from it.

The "Golden Dawn" orders active today stem from a re-make established according to Regardie's papers, so none actually continue the Mathers/Westcott lineage.

Mathers was something of a huckster himself, so that might not be bad. Your best bet, from my perspective, is the David Griffin order. He has some personal problems, but the order is well-organized and you ought to have a chance at participating.

Avoid anyone offering "astral" participation.

Wondering what's involved? Well, what you see is what you get. It's not a secret order, just a private one.

I just want to learn. From there, I will choose what I believe and how I use it. There's only so much about occultism you can learn in a bookstore or on the Internet...

I think of it as more of a set of practical teachings than a paradigm. The Golden Dawn is far from being a religion that imposes beliefs on people. Some orders like OTO are more like religions though.

Re: Anyone have experience with the Golden Dawn (occult order, not Greek party)?
Why subjugate yourself to ANY occult paradigm tha isnt yours?

I just want to learn. From there, I will choose what I believe and how I use it. There's only so much about occultism you can learn in a bookstore or on the Internet...

I think of it as more of a set of practical teachings than a paradigm. The Golden Dawn is far from being a religion that imposes beliefs on people. Some orders like OTO are more like religions though.

I wouldnt trust anything organized; just mvho. I would expect the same level of top-bottom policy capture as we've seen in most religions and governments, they even re-write the books. Bringing a "flag" into the occult limits your access; you dont want to have to conceal or shield yourself in any way; the best way is clear transparency.

i have noise to deal with, i am far from divine or perfect; that is the goal. but at least you will be independent of hidden agena's; you will remain independent.

btw; are you a golden dawn recruiter? is just that you asked the question then answered with hard belief; i.e. a "flag"

I get what you're saying, but I'm just too curious... Got to know the secrets. I won't agree to anything evil, and if they try to drag me into something evil against my will, then that's their problem. And trust me, it will create a big problem for them.

No, lol. Just been reading a lot. At least, that's what the main Golden Dawn groups say. I wouldn't know how they really are. Just going off what I've read about the different orders.

Anyone have experience or know which is the real one?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1237331

The "Golden Dawn" orders active today stem from a re-make established according to Regardie's papers, so none actually continue the Mathers/Westcott lineage.

Mathers was something of a huckster himself, so that might not be bad. Your best bet, from my perspective, is the David Griffin order. He has some personal problems, but the order is well-organized and you ought to have a chance at participating.

Avoid anyone offering "astral" participation.

Wondering what's involved? Well, what you see is what you get. It's not a secret order, just a private one.

looks like internalization of preconceived ordainment.
