Its the total electron count in the upper ionosphere.Here ya go. This has been going on for almost 2 months. The TEC count has spiked off and on weekly, this is a very bad sign for total ionospheric stability.When counts are this high there aren't enough + ions to nullify these particles and they can cause F1 layer instability and become ground current active. At this stage they can become catalysts for quakes This gives you an idea of the process!
