TEC Is Literally Off The Charts And Getting Worse!!!!!

Exactly,as crazy as it sounds we need solar flares for normalcy,our star has experienced these solar max energy outputs, well forever, and we need this energy distribution as much as the sun needs to go through them for its polarity flip. This is the same reason we're experiencing an uptick in cosmic rays(grbs),we the suns energy as a protective 'blanket' ,so to speak!

Is it any coincidence that when you started responding, the TEC started to drop?

People on here watch this all the time. Solar threads and e.q. Threads will always let you know when it is extreme. Why does this stay pinned ?

Having perused the map, does anyone wonder if this 'red' area in the south pacific has anything to do with the supposed US/Chinese war against "malevolent aliens" that was reported by Veterans Today a couple of weeks ago??

Actually, there is something to see here. It's called learning that when someone on a YouTube video says "the highest I'VE ever seen", maybe you should check that out.

We are at page 6. Have you even bothered to check any prior data? It isn't difficult. It's very easy. Why haven't you bothered to do the least amount of research? Had you planned to check any prior data? When someone fails to do the most basic of research, their intentions become suspect. My intentions are clear, yours....not so much.

So, a model has predicted the TEC for certain areas. This is not a measurement, it's a model.

What's your thesis? Just pointing at the data is not enough. What do you think the implications are, now that this predictive model has "maxed out?"

I see a lot of people linking to solar and atmospheric and ionospheric data readouts, and commenting on how "high" or "low" they appear to be, but what's the significance of it in your opinion?

I'm only mildly qualified, as an amateur radio operator, to give an opinion on space weather. I'd like to hear your opinion on these matters.

I wouldn't be too surprised at the chicken little comments, though, because if you are herpin' and derpin' doom and nothing happens, you lost a lot of credibility. It's not "hate" it's an ongoing assessment of the usefulness of your theses.

What the heck is going on around here with all you science guys who seem to not be able to keep your anger and sarcasim in check recently? Unless you are one of the GLP Science God's, you shouldn't be posting anything related to solar activity?

Can I remind you first of all that you are on GLP. If you were all that as a science guy, you'd be on some science forum debating with the experts rather than being on GLP.

Then understand that the TEC is behaving in a manner we are not accustomed to seeing very recently and a thread on this subject is appropriate. I don't really care about researching the previous tech maps and charts. What is currently happening cannot be compared to any chart from six months ago. Yes the tech has been this high in the past. However, this was generally due to solar activity...not inactivity.

I don't think it matters anyway. You probably have already derailed this thread which was your intention. So if that is the case and you read this TBar, consider this. The world learned what it has learned without you in the past. Nobody has assigned you as the guardian of science information on GLP. I am a free willed person and will read any thread on GLP I want and then IF I CHOOSE, I'll research to verify the information I read.

So now, why don't you let the OP alone or better yet, go to Anon. Astrophysicist's thread. That's where this kind of behavior is at it's best. You'll get along just fine there. Another option is for you science people who think you are all that, to start a new solar thread where you can behave any way you want. I really am saddened by your behavior on this thread.

TEC is somehow bad, and yet he doesn't tell us why? Especially when we are looking at a modeled prediction, and not a measurement.

OP has continuously qualified himself througout this entire thread in a very humble manner. Here are some of the things he has said:

It stands for Total Electron Content, and it is a measurement of the amount of electrons within the ionosphere. It is a very good indication of significant solar radiation reaching earth's atmosphere.

I believe each site is linked to a different sensor, or their data path may be different. I've found the Australian link to be particularly helpful and easy to use.

I'm in the same boat. I certainly don't claim to be an expert on any of this, but I have learned a lot from sites like this and others.

As Lady Annie pointed out, this is right over the same area as the 8.9M double EQ earlier this year, along the Indo-Australian plate. All we can do is look at the data, as far as predicting an earthquake - your guess is as good as mine

I appreciate your input, and as I said in an earlier post, I would be remiss in attempting to predict any type of weather or geo anomaly using this data. I was simply pointing out that the TEC was much higher and widespread than I've seen it before. I also watch it on a daily basis, but I've only started doing so this year. I prefer to keep an open mind, and contemplate all possibilities.

Retirement is a bitch. I'd leave retirement to work at a place such as the one below though. The new instruments coming out today are much better than anything from just a decade ago. Too bad some people try to insinuate every new source of data spells Doomsday even though some of the data wasn't even possible just a few years ago. How do they know what the data would have shown a few decades ago? Whatever.
