Not to mention what's already said, the courts/DA/cops/prisons are kept busy with pot/drug laws. Prisons are full of drug convictions.

At the early part of the 20th century it was decided to demoniz and attack hemp/marijuana because the oil industry/empire was coming online and since almost everything was made from hemp it needed to disapear so oil products/petroleum could take over, thats about the gist of it.

Some people can smoke it and be fine I'll admit that. The majority of people who smoke become lazy dimwits or suffer from some mental illness. Every single person I know who has suffered depression has been or is a big weed smoker..

i broke my back in 2008 having me L4 displaced 40%. that means my L4 slid inwards almost half way, pinching the spinal cord. i can still walk around and move just a lot of pain. i have not taken a "pain pill" or anything like that since before the injury happened. when the pain gets to much i hit the bowl. the pain level goes down and i didn't put a poison in my blood. look at what is in the cannabis plant and what happens when one eats/drinks or smokes it. then do the same thing with what doctors give out like candy for "pain". thanks to when carter was in offices one can opt out of our health system and treat themselves.

Weed and illicit drugs will NEVER BE LEGALIZED, I can guarantee it and I will tell you why, two simple words, Search & Seizure!

If drugs were legalized the government could charge taxes and fees on all transactions and make a lot of money. However, if these substances are kept illegal, the same government, when they catch you, can take everything you own, all of the cash you have, your home, your vehicles and all of the drugs too! And if they want to, they can fuck you over or even kill you for sport in the attempt!

I used to have a next door neighbor who was an assistant county prosecutor. Every year they would be sent, along with their wives, to ski vacations to Colorado, or the Bahamas, or wherever, for "training seminars" where they would have to show up for an hour or so a day and then go play, all with seized drug money. All expenses paid. PD's across the country buy all sorts of "anti-drug" technologies, weapons, and vehicles to the tune of hundreds of billions each and every year from these funds, all in the name of the 'War on Drugs"!

So forget about it. Keep dreaming, because even if 100% of Americans wanted it, they are NOT going to give up the Goose That Lays The Golden Egg!

asking my doctor why, he pointed to all the latest research (not the kind done to enable it to be sold in california, real, peer validated repeated research) where i discovered what i suspected, it is a stimulant and pain attenuator, amplifying pain signals, nerve perception, and hunger.

years of meeting other chronic pain sufferers at clinics and they all report much the same with two exeptions, being menstrual cramps and elevated eye pressure .

But on topic.. the two should be legal anyway, they both have their good points and bad points! Ever wonder what civilization would be like if they both were? I guess for that we'd have to go back to the 70's...
