In other words, to make America a safe place for criminals to roam because law abiding citizens would have no way to protect themselves.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16837545 They were supposed to be "tracking" the guns, so that when they sent in the guns, and later found the guns with the dead bodies, they could say, "Hmm, those are our guns." Yes, it's that stupid. That, or they had some other nefarious reason. I cannot imagine a valid reason for sending automatic weapons to Mexican drug cartels.
