Here your reference points... [ link to www.ndbc.noaa.gov] and [ link to www.ndbc.noaa.gov] Look at the whole URL and you can see the dates it is passing in as a range... &start= 20120408000000&end= 20121019235959 This change in column height affected the buoy for a long time.. it started on either Dec 01, 2011 and/or April 8, 2012 ... and if you go to April 29, 2012, you can see that it is STILL making big waves up and down.  DEBUNKED. Nothing but a stupid data error. No way the ocean is sinking 400 meters like OP claims. I do wish it were true though.
