Any strength athlete will have a BMI way over 25, and their percent body fat could be very low. Anonymous Coward User ID: 25926459 United States 10/20/2012 10:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am a 5 foot 11 inch tall male weighing 155 lbs. I have more muscle than not and no bones sticking out except for my ribs, which have always stuck out a bit. Am I too skinny? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24552466 The reason I ask is because in high school I used to weigh 210 lbs. Since then I started going to the gym and eventually lost the fat. I stopped going as soon as I hit 165. So, being fat for a crucial portion of my life has made me look back and wonder if I am in fact healthier. So, is 155 lbs too skinny? Just right? Should I lose more? average weight should be 165-175 lbs at 5ft 11 inches |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 24205518 United States 10/20/2012 10:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look at yourself in the mirror. If you think you're fine, you are. Why ask for others' opinions? Especially when 70% of Americans are overweight. If you ask any fat person if 5'11" 155 is skinny, of course they'll say yes. Especially all the chubby women who look down at their scale and see a number > 155. And especially gym guy, who keeps bulking up because it's the only thing he has in life. I mean, really, a grown man who still judges himself on how many peoples' asses he could beat? Something is seriously wrong there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4727082 United States 10/20/2012 10:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It depends...muscle weighs more than fat. Measurements are a much more reasonable way to measure your body. I'm a 5'8 female who weighs b/w 140-145. My waist is 26 inches, chest and hips 35. My arms are 9 inches. I run and exercise almost every day. I eat healthily. I'm 29. I'm a size 4-6 jean (depending on the cut). When I was 19, I weighed 117 and my measurements were about the same, slightly smaller in my arms and thighs and a wider waist. I was a size 2 jean. So really, it depends on how you want to look. |

eve User ID: 28274067 Bosnia and Herzegovina 11/22/2012 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it's a bit tricky for me to imagine, with no visual, your hight, weight and age combined together into your appearance, but let's assume you are a bit on the skinny side, if your ribs are showing and all. i was initially planning to say, nothig wrong with a litlte rib showing on a man, if that is you natural look, if you matobolize that way. then i read you were overweight as a teen, yo i guess you don't know how you matabolize, (what happens to your body if you do't work out and eatr all you want) anyway, i find skinny sexy on a man, so in ym eyes a man can enver bee to skinny, unless manoreyic, and i do know a manorexic man, so that's why i mention it. you are obviously not manorexic, just a bit on the skinny side. you can incorporate gym, coz workout makes you feel better coz of seratonine and endorphines and it also helps not to get flobby as you age, but whatever you do, please don't take those awful suplemets that make you retain water muscle.water muscle is peed out as soon as the man stops taking that crap and it looks fake and not very sexy. i'd take a bit of rib showing on my man any time over unatracitve fake muslce. (most men end up with fake muscle, since big (real) muscles are easy to obtain, for a men, but are almost imposible to maintain) men be wise, working out is to keep you strong and vital, not to make you into artificial water muscle freaks... see 50 cent who is both fat and water muscley from all the supplemet crap he takes. and see richard prior in his young days for a sexy skinny brother... why do i only think of men in terms of african men? my husband is african, maybe that's why... anyhu, OP i hope this helps you in anyway. men on this forum seem much skinnier than you are in general, or very short. i've never heard of a grown man who weighed 140 lbs before this forum??? maybe i just am out of practice when it comes to converting pounds to kilograms, i grew up on a metric system i am 34 in two months, i'm medium built and i am 172 cm (5' 8) and i think i weigh around 65 kg (about 145lbs) so more than some men on this forum. |

(coz i went from unbelievably small waist to a rather big one=) |

Should I lose more? I dropped 75 lbs in 3.5 months during my late teenage years(I'm 21 now). Before then had shingles, after then had some gland swelling where I couldn't eat. So even though I ate poorly as a kid(ALL FAST FOOD due to driving constantly as a kid) and ended up 215 lbs at 5'8 in 8th grade I'm now 6' 150 lbs and can't even try to put on a pound. I feel definitely like a 'small' person compared to others. I have these skinny ass hands and fingers, skinny arms, etc. and the people around me look like buffalo in comparison. At one point I dropped to 135 but kept fainting lol.. Idk what I think of my size/weight. I'm pretty happy with myself overall, just so strange to realize how much meatier people are than me I guess? I still feel great though as far as I'm concerned. |
