Re: Remarkable: US vs Northwest Europe church attendance
Disgraceful.
After 911 America flooded into the churches.
Every pew was filled.
Then slowly attendance dropped off.

America is still a Christian nation, at least
the overwhelming majority profess to be Christians,
but it seems we need tribulation to drive us to
our knees in prayer.

If that is what it takes, that is what God will give us.

Turning back to God is more important than ANYTHING else
in this life.

I pray we turn back to Jesus Christ and away from
socialism and materialism, before it is too late.

If God takes His hand of protection off of America
we are done for.

Thanks for this - let's pray for America
and all people who worship the Lord, not the fabrication and source of misery called Allah.

God is all we have, all we seek, and the master of all whether we know it or not.

As someone said of atheists, they don't know what they don't know.

Re: Remarkable: US vs Northwest Europe church attendance
I would also add that in Europe traditionally churches were supported by the state. They did not have to do anything to keep people coming because they got paid even if two people showed up. By contrast, thanks to separation of church and state in the US, churches had to adapt to keep people coming -- basically you had to make a consumer product that people liked. Hence the mega churches, the pop music, the prosperity-type sermons, the attempt to cater to all the person's needs -- physical, spiritual, financial, etc. And clearly it has worked. Whether it will continue to work is another story. Church attendance is declining in evangelical churches too, though for other reasons.
