A Question For Religious Types...
Ok, why did God make space and what is the purpose of so many stars, suns, planets, comets, meteorites, space dust etc etc etc.. surely there must be a purpose for so much un-inhabitable lumps of gas and rock?

Or is the reality, actually there is no god and we are just a genetic experiment by some advanced alien race?

Re: A Question For Religious Types...
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork.

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. Psalm 19:1-6
*****************************************

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:7-14

and who exactly would have created this "advanced alien race?"

Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed
say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? (Romans 9:20)

A more advanced alien race. Who created God? A more advanced God.

If everything has to be created, the line of creators is virtually endless.

OP have you ever wondered why God and doG are symmetrical. the implication being that man is in the middle?

Let me put it another way, have you ever tried to scool your dog in philosophy, mathematics, foriegn languages?

Rest assured there is a purpose, yet if your understanding of Gods intentions are on the order of a dog understanding yours then don't expect an answer in this realm.

As to the complexity of matter, the incredible variance of properties of the different elements, well to consider that accidental is, lets just say my command of the enlish language is not good enough to describe just how arrogant and silly that is!

Little did Isaiah know about the history before him...

Since the beginning of recorded history, which is defined by the invention of writing by the Sumerians around 6000 years ago, historians have cataloged over 3700 supernatural beings, of which 2870 can be considered deities.

There are no planets outside our own planetary system. It's just something NASA keeps repeating with nooo evidence like the others do with caveman. (scientists are nwo paid liars like lawyers.)

We are told in Genesis the stars are for signs and seasons. They are for us to look at; to show how big God is as a Creator.

Are attempting to imply historians are infallable?

back to the dog analogy, dogs have catalgued over 6,000,000,000 entities of apparent supernatural ability, of those 300,000,000 of whom can be considered dieties.

Also, religion is synonymous with Freedom of Conscience, we all have it. You are free to believe whatever you like.

Genesis is the oldest text on the planet. Understand how text dating is performed by dating events in the text with the sciences, not the actual relic as found in Sumeria, a region founded after the global flood recorded in the Bible.

Babylon and the Bible
by Professor Walter J. Veith, PhD

Two hundred years ago, scholars doubted whether Babylon ever existed. The only record could be found in the Bible. Critics used the story of Babylon, and what they called its "non-historic kings," to discount Scripture. However, Babylon was discovered and excavated in 1898.

We know today that Babylon was one of the first cities in the world, and founded by Nimrod, great-grandson of Noah (Genesis 10:9-10). Archaeologists have found his name on many inscriptions and tablets, while a massive head of Nimrod has been excavated near Calah on the Tigris River.

Sumeria is located in the Land of Kish (Kush or Cush) founded by son of Noah's son Ham.

"Kish was occupied beginning in the Jemdet Nasr period (3100 BC), gaining prominence as one of the pre-eminent powers in the region during the early dynastic period.

The Sumerian king list states that it was the first city to have kings following the deluge, beginning with Jushur."

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

"Cush, son of Ham. The Empire of Kush to the south of Egypt is known from at least 1970 BC, but this name has also been associated by some with the Kassites who inhabited the Zagros area of Mesopotamia, the Sumerian city of Kish in the Land of Kish."
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

"The Sumerian Kish, the first city established in Mesopotamia after the Flood, took its name from the man known in the Bible as Cush. The first kingdom established after the Flood was Kish, and the name "Kish" appears often on clay tablets. The early post-Flood Sumerian king lists say that "kingship descended from heaven to Kish" after the Flood."

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe
a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)

Think about what is written there...

Where is my free will if God is interfering with it and actively deluding me?

Ask Jesus to send you the Holy Spirit. It's literally God's spirit that literally comes into your physical body. That was what was missing due to the fall of man, you know...Adam. Then you are led and taught what to do. You'll wonder how you lived before that.

It's rather hilarious that the early bible writers thought the empty sky was a FIRMament, meaning it was solid and the stars were small. And that the earth was supported by "pillars" and was flat, and that the sun revolved around the earth! Morons!

It doesn't matter! You're here now and alive. You'll be dead one day too and there will no longer be anything to worry about.
If there was a god who wanted us to worship him (for some odd reason) he'd make himself known in some spectacular way. Not through the writings of men!
The religious know this, but the religious part of the brain is in many far stronger and less rational than it is in others. They have a need for god. God has no need of them.
The shackles of religious belief are the only thing standing in the way of man reaching his true potential, whateber that may be.
So many gods....so little time :-)

Re: A Question For Religious Types...
Energy created the universe. Our experiences, memories, dreams, imaginations... are all energy. As for the purpose of the universe? Not sure, but it is certainly a very interesting place to be, and sometimes it amazes me at just how beautiful it can be. Is that not enough?

If 'god' exists, then personally I believe it is energy. It's perfectly feasible to suggest that energy is/has/has access to/creates consciousness.
