What?! Free Pot Offered To Lure Residents To Vote, Record Voter Turnout Follows

Fliers offering $40 worth of free medical-grade marijuana were reportedly passed out in Eagle Rock to try and draw residents to vote in the local election.

Was the free pot an incentive to get a larger turnout? Politics ranked “high” on resident’s list of priorities. Nearly 10 times as many voters – 792 residents – turned out to the polls during the recent Neighborhood Council elections than last year.

“It’s a little weird that people can’t come out and vote on their own. I see that as a problem, as a social symptom,” Eagle Rock resident Joerael Elliott said.

...yada yada yada ,,,ove voter turnout, it didn’t lead to victory. A candidate from the Eagle Rock Neighbors Slate was elected president. Only two of the eight Progress candidates won – for the positions of civic director and sub-district 1 director.

Of course according to the story this stunt was really meant to help some "progressive" local candidates...

And apparently, it didn't help that much...

If California keeps going down the liberal toilet of being the United State's experimental welfare state, there may be a voter revolution sending them back in a far more conservative direction, it's already happened at the local level in a lot of communities, unfortunately the State House is locked in democrat for the forseeable future...

It's a shame too, I used to love driving up through California, it was a beautiful state, with some beautiful communities, now so many have just disintigrated into shit holes...

Here's what the twits seem to forget. California was one of the first states to allow medical pot. Bush's DOJ shut down zero pot shops. The "current administrations" DOJ has shut down almost all of them.
